Sunbird Waterfront

We had an amazing, beautiful stay. From the moment we got there, all staff were very welcoming ( Bertha at the reception was such a joy), everyone was polite, always smiling, made sure everything was okay from the room, food etc. You can tell and see that every department works very hard and together they just give the best service overall. Beautiful room with a beautiful view of lake malawi. Giving one of the best views of the sunrise too. The food was nice and freshly made. Will be visiting again in the future without a doubt.

Excellent breakfast overlooking the lake

No swimming. Found pool closed. Heavy rain meant lake was lapping at hotel garden wall in parts Restaurant service very poor, lovely staff let down by manageress. Took 2 hours to eat 2 courses

The hotel environment was really good calm and clean

The A/C alignment should be in the same line to the bed not on the corner that was giving me issues while sleeping

The wifi hardly works, and the food is overpriced.

The location and facilities are great. The staff are friendly and friendly.

No cash restriction caused me inconvenience. My bank card had expired and I drew cash to pay. I had to give the cash to another resident (my sister) so she could pay for me.

The property is exceptionally clean. The rooms in the hotel are really well maintained. The bed is very comfortable. The serving staff especially Costly, and a young pool waitress were amazing, and so kind. Some of the food was very good. The pool staff were excellent, and were vigilant on safety and keeping the area and pool spotless. We arranged some good activities with a local guide. WiFi patchy but manageable. Arranged some great activities for children over Easter, the choir were fabulous.

For luxury accommodation you would not expect people to come into the pool fully clothed, even wearing their knickers. Babies had on normal nappies not swim nappies, and one woman emptied the urine into the pool. For all religions there is swimwear you can purchase to ensure modesty, no excuses. As they could not swim, they could be dragged down by wet clothes too. In the rules it does not state shower before pool entry, not hygienic if you are luxury. The menu is not up to date on pricing, creating uncomfortable discussions at payment. We addressed one issue, and were received with immediate hostility by the manager. Check all pricing before eating or drinking anything, and conflict resolution training for Akanafe is urgently needed.
