Tikitam Palms Boutique Hotel

So what a resort. If you want to truly feel spoilt and relaxed this is the place to stay. Positive Points Exclusive resort with only a few rooms. Staff amazing. They truly make you feel like a rock star. Bed super comfy housekeeping service amazing The food is absolutely amazing, my wife had allergies and they catered for her without a problem. Judith the receptionist was utterly amazing. The Manager communicated amazingly prior to our stay. Not so positive points. Pillows could do with being a little bit bigger as they were extremely small. WiFi rubbish and didn’t work that well, it was patchy. TV position in room rubbish. As we stayed for 3 weeks at the resort, a couple of nights we just wanted to chill and watch Netflix. Mini fridge rubbish , this room mini fridge didn’t work and the pop and beers were warm. 1st 2 weeks most of the drinks were warm, when served. Milk never cold at breakfast. Food amazing however if you stayed over a week extremely repetitive as it was a weekly set meal. Pool always full of flys and scum around the edges the pool guy cleaned it every day, so definitely something wrong. Towels rock hard. Both the room towels and pool towels rock hard. Laundry service not consistent and depends who sends it out to get done. After breakfast service around the pool is 2hrs for a drink. Lunch menu could offer a larger selection, however again the food is amazing. Mr Slim - rip off and tell lies. PLEASE DO NOT USE HIM. He was recommended via the hotel as he is a friend of the owner, but all he wants to do is rip you off and tell lies. Guests could be pre warned regarding taxi situation. Taxis are a small fortune to go anywhere in Zanzibar so if you can drive it’s a better option. AC not adequate and staff always turn off. The AC either hasn’t been serviced properly or isn’t adequate for the room size, so if you like a cool room this isn’t good. The villa on a main thourafair not good for a honeymoon suite.

Absolutely gorgeous. We had the beach villa, which was so beautiful with a lovely scoop bath that looked out to a lovely view of the sea. They only have twelve rooms so very spacious and tranquil. All the staff were so friendly, and kind. Spotlessly clean and very comfy sun loungers.

There is very little to complain about at this hotel. The food was good, buffet style in the evenings. I think I would have liked an a la carte evening menu, like they have at lunch time maybe. Saying that, I have a seafood allergy and the lovely chef went through every dish to tell me what I should avoid, and even cooked me a separate soup on the evening it was seafood.

This accommodation was one of the best we ever had! Jungle feeling and at the sea; best there is!

If we could give this property a higher rating, we would! My wife and I stayed there as the last stop of our honeymoon trip across Zanzibar, and our experience in this hotel exceeded our expectations! Villa: We stayed at the Sultan Villa, which was very spacious and clean and offered an opportunity to unwind during the day whenever we needed a break from the sun. The bed was very comfortable, and the view of the ocean was dreamy! There is a good-sized patio where you can enjoy your morning coffee first thing and listen to the calming waves. We also got the chance to watch some monkeys playing directly in front of us, which was great entertainment. Food: If you are a foodie, you will love this place. From breakfast to dinner, we were spoiled for choice, including freshly baked pastries, numerous egg options made right in front of you by one of the chefs, local fruit, and freshly brewed coffee. The dinners were two-hour long feasts with different themes each night. We were lucky to experience the Swahili dinner on Tuesday night, with live music to accompany the expertly prepared meals. We also had a special welcome dinner prepared for us on the beach on the first night, which we really appreciated :) Staff: The nicest people working on the property who were always happy to help and made us feel at home! We learnt a lot about the dishes they were serving and their ingredients. You also have someone by the pool area to talk about the tides and the best times for swimming or kayaking/paddling (both sports are available at the property). Pool / beach area: Very comfortable loungers with a direct view of the ocean! The whole property is very well maintained. Spa: Definitely get to the spa before leaving, we had a very relaxing massage and my wife got a papaya facial which she loved. We would love to come back next time we are in Zanzibar! Very friendly staff settled in a beautiful surrounding. Great pool, and everything is so clean. We felt really looked after. How ever, it said in various sites that there is a beach here, it is, maybe 25 sq meter in total, but with no acces to the sea, there is a very large ref.

The hotel was superb …enhanced by the excellent food and delightful staff! More than happy to return.

Everything was perfect.

From the moment our driver let us off at the Tikitam Palm Boutique hotel we knew we had made the right choice. The resort is beautiful with genuine African carvings and rich tapestries throughout. It felt so relaxing after our 8 days on Safari. The pool was wonderful and the staff were very attentive. The coral beach is interesting to walk along but not really for laying on. It was so serene and calm that we canceled plans one day just to hang around the resort. The absolute best part, in our opinion, were the incredible meals by the chef. Every night was a different theme and every night we were so impressed. We’re from New York and I’m a bit of a food snob—his meals were fantastic! Breakfasts were tasty as well. Everyone from our first introduction to our checking out were gracious, welcoming and attentive. This is a small boutique resort which made it feel sometimes that we had it all to ourselves. There are monkey shows if you sit and wait a bit. We enjoyed just soaking in the clean air and atmosphere. (A tip would be to bring some $1.00 bills to dinner each night. The resort says it’s cashless so we didn’t walk around with any money. Some evenings they had entertainment and they were expecting a tip, it made it a little awkward.) We loved the Tikitam—it’s a great place to chill and eat!
