Hotel Jaiba Mahahual - Adults Only

My stay at Hotel Jaiaba - a fluke scheduled during a huge mess to get on a cruise ship - ended up as the best part of my vacation week. Easy to reserve online by phone from the States last minute, and they have WIFI in the rooms which helped with my travel snafu final plans. The room was quiet, the bed super comfortable, and I had the upper level lanai with a hammock to myself. Had a delicious dinner a quick taxi ride away on recommendation by the staff, who spoke English (after a rather harrowing 4.5 hour no conversation “taxi shuttle” ride from Cancun). The best coffee and sugar ever. Peaceful and affordable. Thank you!

staff is extremely nice and helpful, highly appreciated. the hotel is a bit off the center, but cabs are just 25 pesos. nice pool coffeemachine and water in the room

the air in the rooms is a bit moist and sticky , its not possible to sleep without AC, which however is very loud ask for a room in the first floor

Great hotel if you want to avoid the busy strip of Mahahual. The rooms are clean and spacious. The pool is awesome if you want to avoid the busy beach. We rented bikes at the hotel which we used to go in to town (5 min) or to the strip (10 min). The reception helped us with arranging the colectivo from- and to- Bacalar which was really helpful!

The ladies running the hotel were adorable! I got upgraded to a jr suite a gorgeous room with a huge balcony. They give you coffee and tea in your room and filtered water. The hotel staff also gave me the best recommendations for food and transportation they even booked my bus ride to Bacalar for me! Highly recommend.

u can chill at the rooftop terrace:-) the room is big and comfortable! they rent bikes so it makes easy to get to the beach, they are very helpful !

everything. location was terrible on the edge of town with motor bikes and industrial machinery. one light bulb in room. Ants all over the place.
