Balnearn House

We were checked in earlier than arranged but Mark was more than happy to do so. Our room was elegantly decorated and furnishings were good quality. The bed was so comfortable we slept very well. The shower in the ensuite was very powerful and had locally sourced sea kelp complimentary hand & body washes. Everywhere was immaculate. Breakfast was served in a beautiful room, the tables were set up with our pre-selected staters and a wooden disc place marker. A large cafetiere of coffee was just the right strength and our fry up breakfast was tasty & filling.

We prefer a settee to chairs but for 2 days it wasn't an issue.

The breakfast was good - well presented though the tired green garnish on the poached eggs seemed unnecessary

A warmer, more engaging greeting by the host would have been more welcoming

The back yard was very nice place to play fetch with the owners dogs. Also, the Birks hike to the south was a great way to get some exercise and scenic views.

A lovely, comfortable b&b in a perfect location by the Birks o'Aberfeldy and its beautiful waterfalls. The town centre is 5 minutes away on foot where there are shops and a number of good restaurants. Our bedroom was comfortable with a good sized en-suite shower room and, much to the delight of my wife, a spacious wardrobe with plenty of hangers. The very comfortable guest lounge has a view over the garden and is a perfect place to sit and enjoy a glass of wine and read a book. Our host Mark was welcoming, accommodating and produced an excellent Scottish breakfast. We would certainly return here if visiting the area again.

This property is as close to idyllic as you can get. In every sense you can imagine it is perfect. From the drive in, the secluded grounds, the views from your room, breakfast. Large room, spacious modern bathroom, spotlessly clean. Fresh cooked to order breakfast was especially nice. Have to add to stay here is inexpensive. I travel extensively for work and can honestly say this venue is the best value you will find anywhere in the UK and Ireland. A real pleasure to experience with a very short drive to Kenmore beach and the Falls of Dochart (pictured) a must
