Clarysville Motel

They overbook the rooms. Last time they were kicking me from one room, to another. This time I stayed only one night and the guy had a nerve to give me a lecture for not saying “thank you” for giving me a different room!!

The guy first moved me from to another room next day- “it was reserved”, then made me move a car to the side- “parking for new people”. At night carbon monoxide alarm was periodically going off

We had someone try and break into our room last night. My wife was locked in our bathroom and after 15 minutes i looked out to see if the coast was clear and they were still at our door. Had her call 911 but that whole ordeal was 40 terrifying minutes. Owner refused to give us a refund and called me a "scaredy-cat". Everyone stay away from this place, they let dangerous people and drug offenders stay here long term.

Great historic hotel

Arrived to find that my room with two beds was not available and had to settle for a small double bed for two large people. The room was no larger than 10 feet wide and the heater did not work properly. The receptionist was extremely apologetic and even gave me a partial refund.

I would have liked if I could have stayed but the sent me to a friends very poor rate motel instead, which had none of the things I wanted if I had stayed in Clarysville.

I didn't like the fact that the owner/manager has a friend and he re-reserves a room at his friends place instead??? I chose the Clarysville Motel because it had good reviews and a 7.8 rating. It had laundry facilities and it was our 8th day on the road and planned on doing laundry at the motel. It also had garden view rooms. Instead the owner/manager was very smiling but could not really communicate hardly at all. Just smiled and nodded his head, he handed my husband a printout out of a new reservation at a Super 8 Motel about four or five miles away. It was filthy, dirty floors, stains on carpets, and the hallways smelled of smoke although the owner/manager there said all no smoking. The ice machine didn't work, the coffee cups had no lids, the microwave didn't work. I checked the rating and it was a 6.8, and we never stay lower than 7.0. We had to drive and sit in a laundromat in a secluded lot off the road and it was just a very disappointing experience. Booking is my go to for stays, but will not be if they are allowing someone else to change our plans without consulting us to see if new place would meet my needs...ie..laundry on site.
