Gladville- old world charm with stunning views

Loved the house and the way it was set up. Very comfortable.

The really steep driveway. It was difficult to manoeuvre the vehicle.

Gorgeous home with so many classy details throughout. The stained glass windows!! Comfortable antique furniture. Beautiful artworks. An amazing collection of homewares that were lovely to use. The butlers pantry was brilliant. And the spa baths were wonderful. It was a wonderful stay. Thank you.

The drive way is steep but you can turn around to drive out facing forwards.

Lovely old fashioned house. There is a view from the front decking where we enjoyed afternoon tea after a long drive. As other reviews have stated the garden and drive are on an incline so guests need to be able bodied and confident drivers. During this time of year the house was warm and comfortable. Did not like the split kitchen, fridge in another room set up. Unfortunately there were mice guests too.

The mouse house. We were SHOCKED AND VERY DISSAPOINTED that the owners failed to inform us of the extra house guests being mice! They did know about them (rat poison had been placed in cabinets) but their efforts to get rid of them only trapped the mice in two different cabinets while they died. Surely guests should be informed when there is a known infestation of mice in a rental property as it is a health hazard. Late on our first evening (stayed two nights) we found a dead mouse along with lots of faeces and urine in the TV cabinet and a stench that will be hard to eradicate from the wood. We checked for more mice. The second was alive and trapped inside a cabinet filled with cushions and throws, it was trying to eat through the wood. The smell was disgusting. We removed the dead mouse. We did not sleep well that night. The next day the rental agent was apologetic and got someone in to deal with the situation. We left notes on each cabinet to indicate where the mice were. We expected that they would clean the cabinets, but they did not, the large cabinet still had cushions and throws that the mouse would have crawled through etc in it, the TV cabinet still had faeces and urine. The lounge area has a distinct smell to it now. The cabinets are free standing that the mice were in, we suggest they be removed. We understand that having mice in a house is hard to control. The owners should have informed us considering that the infestation was ongoing and a health hazard. After a long trip staying at this house was supposed to be a relaxing time, sadly it was not.

Thanks for the bottle of wine on arrival. Good selection of teabags and essentials for the weekend. Plenty of condiments for cooking and lots of glassware and cookware.
