Gladville- old world charm with stunning views

Location: on the top of mountain, steps away from look out thats awesome for a sunset view, very quiet and relaxing area of Daylesford. House: amazing antique furnitures, heaps of tablewares and kitchenwares, with coffee plunger but no coffee. Garden: very well maintained and lovely Bathrooms: 2 newly fitted bathrooms very nice with spas.

If the house maintain team could improve their cleanliness job it will be a 10 out of 10. Chairs and table on the deck with spider webs, a few webs in bathrooms as well, toilet could be cleaner. Might ask too much but at this price range most of the house with a coffee machine. :)

Lovely warm house, it was a cold weekend, everything one could need, very clean and tidy.

Gladville is a cute little cottage that feels welcoming as soon as you open the front door. The beds were comfortable, the facilities very good including cooking, cleaning and heating/cooling. The spa baths were so deep, perfect for a soak after a hike! We loved the living space, it felt relaxing, like home and the outdoor space for morning coffee was great. We were in a greta location, easy walk to the strip shops and restaurants.

One of the spa baths wasn't working, but didn't impact the experience much.......the deep soaking baths were good without the spa function. There was also a bit of surface dust in the bathrooms (specifically the heated towel rails).

The history of the cottage, beautiful gardens in bloom, touches of old and new. Loved the bathroom and nice touches. A credit to the owner.

Coffee, could not find and bought some coffee from the shops. Blankets, my friend was cold but could not find blankets. I suggest coffee and tea sitting on the bench to welcome. A nice cosy blanket for the beds.

Delightful house and garden - loved the stained glass windows, the pretty bedrooms, beautifully appointed bathrooms and the inviting sitting area. Loved the gas 'log' fire and ambiance in the house. Lots of heritage styled furnishings, ornaments and interesting artwork. Loved the space - didn't feel at all cramped. Loved the underfloor heating - the whole house was warm and cozy during our winter visit. The garden was beautiful and it was a joy to see the daffodils, jonquils and camellias in bloom. Great views. Outdoor area looks wonderful but it was cold outside and we opted for the warm log fire instead.

The microwave located on top of the fridge was very difficult to access and a safety hazard trying to take a bowl of hot porridge out. It could easily be placed on the bench in the butler's pantry/laundry room. The access to the house makes taking heavy suitcases up the many stairs and back down to the car a difficult task. It could be possible to create a slightly wider pathway along the service side with a sealed surface or a ramp up to the left hand side patio? (might not be enough length?). The place where the next-door property driveway and the Gladville property adjoin has a sharp drop and is a little nerve wracking to drive past in the dark. A handrail along the steep brick steps that lead to the front door would be appreciated (could be powder-coated metal so not intrusive looking).

It is a beautiful property. Highly recommended.

The home was magnificent. So comfortable and everything needed was there. My daughter was getting married during our stay and the home has provided some wonderful photo backdrops. The home has been beautifully restored and we would happily stay there again and again. A big thankyou to the owners of this beautiful home.

The driveway on the hill was a little challenging.

Needs a rail at the front steps. Very difficult to get down
