"Lovely place to stay."

10.0

Of all the hotels we stayed at during our 2 week tour in France, this was my favourite. A very warm welcome and a tour around the property. The space was amazing and each area well presented. Travelling with a dog this was such a lovely place for walks in the grounds as well as out and about. Saint Cirq Lapopie was a beautiful gem of a place to drive to-unique and there was a wine museum! My only regret was not booking the table d’hote however it meant we could utilise the outdoor kitchen area for a picnic! I’d love to go back one day.

"Absolutely Awesome B&B."

10.0

We were greeted by a wonderful, welcoming host and the smell of new mown grass. You can't beat that. It was off season so we practically had the place to ourselves. I felt like Louis XIII when the young ladies started setting up the breakfast. Best goat cheese ever. Fresh fruit and breads of all kinds. Two super-friendly dogs. Completely quiet except for the sounds of nature. We purchased one of their wines and apparently it was awesome. When we finally did meet the vintner,he was really what one pictures a winemaker to be. He was very excited to tell us about his family's wine. Fantastic. Perfect hosts.

"Exquisitely decorated and facilities near historical sites!"

10.0

Exquisitely decorated and facilities near historical sites! Very luxury services - attentive to our preferences, delicious off the farm and local fresh breakfast, excellent wine menu, local soap / shampoo, great restaurant recommendations. Their wine list for purchase is great - we ordered sparkling wine and it was brought with savory snacks. All decorations like rugs, server plates, silverware, furniture, blankets are all top highest end quality. You can purchase them to take wine, soap, shampoo, cream, etc. home too. Rooms Very comfortable, charmingly decorated with fresh roses and estate view. Comfortable beds, local wool quilt, soap and shampoo from Rocamadour. Very elegant. Nearby activities We could have stayed on the premises and enjoyed all the facilities, library/books, and local recommendations, but only had 2 nights and chose to visit the historical Rocamadour 1hr away and Saint Cirque Lapopie. Cahors also has many restaurants and is a short 15 minutes away. Toulouse is 1.5hr away. Food & drinks Freshest and great local cheese, bread, jam, butter, cereal, fruits, etc. Definitely try Domaine de Labarthe sparkling wine and make room to take some home - excellent quality as good as many champagne. Noteworthy details All the facility rooms and gites are very well decorated. Plan ahead to be polite so others can plan too like dining - restaurants need reservations and it's best to get there at 1900-1930. Know when you may want breakfast. Request wine as soon as you know, etc.

"Wonderful property and service "

10.0

We had such a fantastic stay - the property and rooms are wonderful and you are so warmly greeted by not only Laurance but both dogs looking for strokes. We had were given a tour of the house, gardens and swimming pool and Laurance made sure that we had dinner reservations arranged. Our room was spacious with a large comfy bed and ensuite - shower was excellent. The room looks onto the gardens / swimming pool and did have a TV but we never had time to watch it. The property is steeped in history and is decorated in a matching style but a number of modern twists. Breakfast was served in the lounge (or by the swimming pool when its warm enough). There was a lovely selection of fresh baguettes, croissants, cheeses, yogurts, fruit along with juices / tea / coffee. The property also has its own wine label and works in collaboration with Chateau Lagrezette which is located a mile away. We did pop in for a tasting (which is free) and found their wines generally good. The hotel is located in the countryside and about 15mins from the centre of Cahors by car - its a great location to explore the many villages in the surrounding area.

"Superb! Nothing less."

10.0

You will be greeted by Guillaume and his wife Laurence who will do everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms are clean, spacious and of course in a quite 18th-19th setting decorated. The bed and mattresses are very good. Breakfast is exquisite and copious. We are very grateful to have been able to spend a night in this domain. Highly recommended.

"Two days, too short"

10.0

We spent two what nights at this lovely guest house 15 minutes outside of Cohors. It’s a very tastefully restored and well-maintained property that shows it’s old, historic nature with rooms equipped with all of today’s modern amenities. Lovely public rooms inside the house provide a place to relax all day. The gardens and expansive grounds provide countless places to relax in the sun or shade with a drink or book. The inviting pool provides a calming backdrop for the wonderful breakfast prepared by the hosts. The hosts both speak English well and offer celebrate dinner recommendations in town. We highly recommend this for a brief get away from the city or for a leisurely stay driving through southern France.

"Peacefully setting, beautiful house, perfect hosts. A lovely escape."

10.0

Such a beautiful house and lovely grounds, tucked away in a peaceful setting. The rooms are cozy, immaculate, and beautifully decorated. Laurance was a perfect host, and helped us with dinner recommendations and reservations. Breakfast was delicious. We were only here for one night but could have stayed for days, especially in the summer.

"Uniquely beautiful, excellent location, lovely hosts"

10.0

Everything about Domaine de Labarthe reflects the graciousness and impeccable taste of the owners, Laurence and Guillaume, who have created a beautiful retreat for their guests amid gardens with towering trees, orchards, and a lovely pool area. We stayed in the historic main house for five nights and in addition to a lovely and very comfortable room and bathroom we enjoyed the salon where meals were served and strolling the extensive grounds. (The weather had turned cold before we arrived so we did not use the pool but it was a nice feature even so.) Laurence gave us a tour when we arrived and told us about the area and its history which proved extremely helpful, and throughout our stay provided suggestions for walks, drives, and places to eat that added immensely to the pleasures of our stay. Guillaume was very warm, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable about local wine and wineries. We appreciated their thoughtfulness and close attention to detail from the exceptionally beautiful yet practical decor throughout the house and grounds to the printed information about area features made available for guests to the excellent local products and baked goods at breakfast (the brioche is amazing) to the many books about the region in the public areas and in the rooms. Even the dogs were delightful! We found the location to be very central for exploring the Lot Valley and other area attractions such as Rocamadour and the Pech Merle caves. We had a wonderful visit and wish we could have stayed longer, and definitely would like to return.
