Mountain View Hotel & Apartment

Mountain View is a lovely place to stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The manager was fantastic.

Could not fault Hotel.

- Good quality breakfast - Amazing view of Kigali - Cleaning staff did a decent job

- Service levels at all meals: breakfast was never on time at 7 and arrived closer to 8. For dinner we waited for 2 hours for a simple meal although there were only 6 people in the restaurant incl. us. It is extremely inconvenient if you you planning any early starts. - one bathroom had no lights for 4 out of 6 days. Bedroom had flickering light for the whole week. We complained about both problems which were probably visible to staff but they were not fixed. - some furniture is extremely old and dirty i.e. living room - English is an issue for many of the staff members who also often lacked knowledge about the tourist attractions - overall value for money considering all of the above is rather poor

Breakfast was excellent, and on time, with variety. The staff were courteous and ready to attend to our needs (which were many cause we travelled with small kids).

The deep end of the swimming pool is not graduated but is 1.8 metres through and through. Graduated pool is better

We had a two bedroom apartment which was spacious and bathrooms were good. Loved the pool area, which was a pleasant surprise. The beautiful views from the restaurant upstairs was amazing.

Breakfast was not good. We had to order food but the items on offer was not varied - tea or coffee and we kept being offered “sausage”. We were unsure how it all worked and ended up just having some fruit and tea. The apartment kitchen did not have any utensils at all.

There was too much noise from the pool bar. Very loud..couldn't work or sleep.

A very nice, green and quiet place for rest and enjoyable stay. I really liked the environment as well as the quality of the foods and services.

I do not know if all mattresses are the same, but the one in the apartment I was did not meet my expectations. The mattress was very soft, and after few hours laying down, it goes in, and you have the feeling of being in a whole. It gave me some neck pain and I remember the last night I had to sleep on the floor.

The reception and cleaning staff were the only team that provided good services.

Location was not good as you need to walk a bit to reach maain road to get transport. I was quite appalled by the services of the kitchen/restaurant. my bedroom was too close with the swimming pool/bar, so a lot of noise caused inconvenience.

It is very clean and comfortable. I particularly love the heating making me even more relaxed

It was a bit difficult for me to locate. I confused it with the boldly written SEA VIEW GUEST HOUSE (on the sea end of the road ) which I was told is no more. Though the house address 17 Princes Road is clearly written in my booking.
