Montacute Country Tearoooms

I got the single bedroom, it was compact with shared common toilet. There was a nice shower and sink in the room. Pillow was filthy with yellow stains. Single bed duvet. The bed being a single was cramped, probably not suit a 6ft or taller person.

THIS IS NOT a BED and BREAKFAST. We found this only after we paid, we would not of booked if we had known, and wouldn’t want others to make same mistake. We were fortunately able to book breakfast at a local pub, however this added an additional expense we had not budgeted for.

Where it was.

There was no breakfast which was strange as it is advertised as a B and B There were quite a lot of difficult stairs which I don't think were well enough explained on the description. The room was very small, which was fine as we were only there for a couple of nights but if we'd been there longer it would have felt too cramped.

Beautiful village to surround a very character filled property

Very clean. Host was very helpful. Lots of info in the room about the area, places to eat etc. Powerful shower, comfy pillows. Great extras in the bathroom and hot drink making facilities. Parking opposite. Local pubs for eating and drinking. No creaky floors as suggested in other reviews.

Lots of stairs. Room needs a mini fridge or long life milk otherwise you have to go downstairs to get milk. Doesn’t offer breakfast so not a b&b. Tea rooms are actually closed so nowhere to sit other than your room. Family room was a squeeze with just 2 adults.
