The breakfast could be improved (eg. guests should have the option to have their breakfast at different times, and offer a wider selection should be offered).

The whole experience was fantastic. Nothing was too much to ask including arranging a mothers day card and gift....

That we only booked 1 night. Would love to have been able to stay longer.

Small boutique hotel (only four rooms I believe) with friendly owners and staff, lovely breakfast (with all guests together!) which is homemade, beautiful estate and very very very nicely decorated. These owners have an exquisite eye for detail and design. The pool is comfortable. Everything is well thought of. The staff already made dinner reservation for us as we arrived on a Monday, which has fewer restaurants that are open.

If I had to name one thing I think it was the shower, where the hot-cold function was a bit so-so; sometimes very hot, sometimes very cold.

Truly amazing house. It is very big and split into three; two apartments and the kitchen/ dining area. You share the garden with the other room, including the lovely pool. You get the complete run of the house which is lovely. The interior design is phenomenal. Felt like it should be in a magazine. The study, bedroom and bathroom were all amazing. Garden is beautiful, full of citrus trees and there is a pool to escape the heat when needed. The garden is a true oasis right in the middle of town. Breakfast was delicious! Granola, eggs, vegetables and homemade spreads made with fruits from the garden! Hein the owner was great and very friendly. He gave us two very good recommendations for dinner both nights we were there. James the man that tends to the garden was also very friendly and professional. Phenomenal stay that we would recommend to anyone. Montagu itself is quaint and we felt safe walking around town. We used it as a base to travel to the vineyards around Montagu and Robertson.

Understated from the outside but stunning on the inside with rooms containing beautiful art and artefacts. These represent a lifetime of collecting for the owners and are put together in an elegant way to provide a comfortable and luxurious stay.. The bedrooms are large and extremely comfortable. The bed linen is the best I have ever slept in. The whole property is clean and the gardens are relaxing.

Amazing house, interior, atmosphere everything!

What a gem of a place - spectacular house with 2 amazing suites. We had the room with the bathroom overlooking the gorgeous citrus garden. The house is very unique and beautifully furnished. Guests have use of the library, cactus conservatory, kitchen etc. Hein was incredibly helpful and a great help with planning where to eat and what to see in the area. The swimming pool was beautifully clean and warm. Breakfasts were an absolute treat each morning.

Can't fault the place. Such a stunning house.

We had the most wonderful time at Jonkmanshof. Hein was a lovely host and made us feel right at home when we arrived. The breakfeast was lovely and really good. We will definitely be back!
