Shears Inn

The food was excellent.

The room was a bit small as was the shower,but to be fair it is an old building,quite a steep cobbled road down to the inn,not ideal if you have walking difficulties

The price was reasonable. The staff were great. Although small, the room felt cosy. (Room 2). Good base for driving to the surrounding areas. Convenient after a long day out that it was a pub and served good pub grub aslong with interesting guest ales.

Felt pretty remote especially in the evening although the walk into town was only about 25 minutes. The pressure from the taps in the bathroom was low and at times there would be a few drops coming from the cold tap that was exacerbated by lack of travel in the tap. If you turned it more than 45 degrees it would go off. The hot water tap was more conventional but took ages to get hot. Access to the shower was difficult to say the least. Whoever fitted it should have put the door on the other side as that would've helped. Quite noisy from the bar below from a strange sound track of "popular" music covers. It was fine at night as it stopped at around 10 but started up again probably around 8:30- 9 ish. Ok for people who don't lounge in bed snoozing.

The room was ideal for our stay, clean and had plenty of tea and coffee facilities. The food was delicious and good portions, we were stuffed! Staff were polite and helpful.

Perhaps breakfast not being available on Sunday mornings.

Easy check in and nice vibe in the pub next door. The age of the property and location were very charming and easy to get a cab into town in under 10 mins for a few pounds. Plenty of parking too.

The location is just a bit tricky to find if you’re not from the area but a great hideaway once you get there.

Quaint, clean, comfy & good value for money. Pub grub was delicious!

The room had everything we needed

It was quite noisy in the room during the day but thankfully it was quiet in the night. We didn’t get told anything about booking breakfast which was advertised in the room but the pub was shut and we had no idea where to leave the key.

Host was very polite, friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable
