Quiet location within walking distance of town. Staff very friendly and large tasty food portions

Toilet seat loose, bathroom quite narrow and bedroom not very spacious but no real complaints when you consider the excellent value for money

Demi was so friendly she really was a pleasure to meet, the accommodation was so clean and comfortable and the bar was very cozy, will definitely be back, x

No room despite booking being accepted

Great location, cheap and cheerful, all necessities were available upon arrival.

The shower became blocked after I showered and there was no way of contacting staff about this until the next morning, meaning my partner couldn't shower. We also weren't sure how to check out earlier than 11 (as the inn doesn't open) and opted for posting the keys through the letter box!

With it being an old dated property there is a strong damp smell. The suite was tight and struggled to get in and out the shower but served its purpose.

They cancelled our booking on less than 24hr notice. We spent a long time planning our trip to Halifax. It was a reunion with a friend who was travelling up from Kent. We booked this accommodation a couple of months in advance and spent a long time choosing the right place in the right location, where we could both have our own room.

We received a call on Friday (we were due to arrive on Saturday) to say that there had been a mistake made and we couldn't have both rooms. The blame was placed on Booking.com. They claimed that they hadn't been able to see the booking for two rooms (but could now) and had booked out the second room we required. When asked why our booking wasn't been honoured and the later booking cancelled, they stated that they didn't have the other customer's details so had to cancel ours. The choice I was provided with was to either share a room and double bed with my male friend or cancel. I had to cancel my entire trip to Halifax because I wasn't able to get two rooms on such short notice. They stated that they had been in a similar situation a couple of weeks before with another customer, who had booked two rooms. I have noticed that there's another similar review to this too. It was an unacceptable situation and it ruined our plans (not forgetting the wasted money in train fare from Kent to Halifax).
