Yala Wild House

Top 5 experience of all time spent at this Homestay. They were able to sort a full day safari for us on very short notice before we arrived. We have a new friend in Hansa who was our knowledgeable tour guide and Homestay host. He and the driver had the skills and knowledge to make sure we saw as many animals as possible including a beautiful leopard! (I only have a video of the leopard) Being so close to the entrance and border of Yala allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the wild world we were in. They served unbelievably tasty traditional food throughout our short stay. Rooms were simple and charming. Fan worked well and made sleeping possible in hot conditions.

A very wild and yala-ish place to stay and start your safari. The comfort is more like camping which makes it very authentic. The host is very motivated to make your stay special - you’ll see ;)

The night with no fan was a little to warm to us to get some sleep.

This is simple accommodation but absolutely perfect and in a lovely setting in the wild.

Wenn man die Natur liebt, so wie wir, dann ist das der perfekte Platz. Man muss sich allerdings auf eine kalte Dusche und kein WLAN einstellen. Der Besitzer war super freundlich und das Essen sehr gut! Die beiden Hunde haben sehr gut auf uns aufgepasst. Hansl der Sohn des Betreibers machte mit uns einen schönen Abendspaziergang,wo er uns einige Heilpflanzen erklärte. Wir sahen auch sehr viele schöne Vögel und eine Landschildkröte. Auch war er ein toller Guide bei der Safari die wir gebucht hatten. Alkes in allem perfekt. Wir waren 3 Tage dort und hätten es auch noch einen Tag länger ausgehalten.

De hutjes zijn super dichtbij yala np, waardoor er dus wel wat beestjes in je hut kunnen komen. Voor ons geen probleem. De eigenaar was supervriendelijk, hij doet alles om het naar je zin te maken!! En hij kookt zelf ook lekker sri lankaans eten! Aanrader!

Amazing jungle experience with an attentive host. Great traditional evening meal. Host arranged YALA safari for us by prior arrangement Lovely set up with hammocks, swing, camp fire and farm. Children would love it! Host is a talented drummer.
