The Old Vicarage Lodge

We came to Manchester for parklife and the lodge was perfect. The location is fantastic, it is clean, tidy, and cosy. The owners are genuinely brilliant, they were so kind and caring. We actually booked this on the day due to a horrid experience elsewhere and I cannot thank them enough for the hospitality.

There was not a single thing I could complain about, the property and everything was just perfect.

Nice and warm. Clean. Comfy bed in the main bedroom. Great location for catching up with family and friends. Good to have teabags and milk, thanks. Easy enough to find street parking.

The lounge felt a little cluttered and it was difficult for the three of us to sit comfortably and watch television at night. The sofa bed was uncomfortable & duvets and pillows were made of feather, I think, which caused my son to wheeze and have poor sleep. I didn’t think to ask about the bedding though. We weren’t relying on breakfast being available but other reviews mentioned it - we didn’t see anything there and the lack of a coffee machine was disappointing.

A beautiful little building set in lovely quiet grounds. The vicarage is kitted out with pretty much everything you could need, home from home. Comfortable bed in the main bedroom, slept really well. Roughly 20 minutes drive from the Trafford centre. A few pubs and shops locally.

My adult son found the sofa bed very uncomfortable, might be better suited to a young child. The toilet developed a leak and wouldn't flush fully during our stay and we were given the wrong WiFi info meaning we didn't have any so used all our data. This was highlighted to the owner but there were delays between seeing my messages and getting back to me which meant even though these problems were acknowledged, they didnt get dealt with until after we had left.

The windchimes outside were really annoying.

Clean, comfortable and a great location. Excellent communication from host. Good value.

This was our second stay at the Old Vicarage and it was equally as comfortable as before. The addition of a washing machine and improved heating controls was much appreciated, particularly given the cold weather. The breakfast pack was a lovely touch, and we took full advantage of the full range of cooking facilities. The location is great, with a Manchester/Bury bus stop a few minutes away, local shops close by and ability to park outside the lodge. Heaton Park right next door and only a short drive to the supermarket in Bury New Rd and entry to the major highway. Whisper quiet, nice big tv, large and sufficient towels, warm and comfortable bedding - thanks again for a wonderful stay.
