The Golden Key

Close by to the Sandlings walk and Snape Maltings. The room was a great size with a comfortable bed and sofa. Despite the windows opening out onto the pub garden below, this soon fell quiet as the pub pretty much closed when the last patron went home. Food was good and the staff were lovely, welcoming and friendly. I imagine breakfast would have been good however having woken up early to a warm bright day and the sound of bird-song I decided to be on my way.

Great little pub, with surprisingly large room and bathroom for the money. Easy parking and access to the building and room.

Checkout at 10am was fine for us but might be a bit of a disappointment for some.

There were some painting works going on which was a little distracting, but didn’t stop us enjoying our stay

Spacious room and comfortable bed; excellent bathroom.

Breakfast options were limited. We would have liked a choice between full English (available but not wanted) and Continental (not really available). Bar closed by 9.30 pm.

I like the location and the staff were friendly.

There was not a lot of vegetarian options on the menu. Breakfast was not being served until 9am.

Rooms were clean and spacious

Some of the staff were unfriendly. Early closure of facilities. Lots of flies in the dining area at breakfast

Very pleasant staff, not too expernsive, a fan in the room and near to the concert hall.

Shower didn't function properly - temp regulation, and the outer coating was coming away from the tube. The bed was quite hard but acceptable

Good value, friendly pub, food excellent.

A characterful pub. Quite old and quirky- a little like our house! Very clean, a large and comfortable room, a cheerful and helpful staff and very close to Snape where we enjoyed concerts as part of the Aldeburgh Festival. Lots of quiet walks from the Golden Key. A reasonable price.We are booked again for July.

Nothing- though stairs might be a challenge for those less mobile.
