The Golden Key

There is always a warm welcome and it feels like a home from home. Our room was wonderful and had everything we could ask for, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was wonderful. We return year after year as we love the accommodation and the location.

Breakfast only served from 8 or 9 so they provided me with some supplies the night before. Croissant and fruit. Very accommodating.

Lighting at night very poor and insufficient to read by. Shower has little pressure and still runs much bath water on shower mode. Bed very unsupportive and bouncy. No table of any sort in the room.

Quirky old English pub with lots of character. Friendly staff. Nice spacious room with decent shower. Good selection of cooked breakfast options.

Intermittent noise from water pump was disturbing during the night so did not have the most restful sleep. Limited continental breakfast options.

Location and very pleasant staff.

The ceiling in our bedroom is the same height as me.

Very quirky and characterful. Great location and very quiet.

Since our last stay in 2022, standards seem to have slipped and we had several issues. Unironed bed linen, threadbare towels, water temperature in shower dangerously hot, a few maintenance issues in bathroom, lots of flies in dining area of pub, and staff not as attentive as they were previously.
