Hunter's Friend Resort near Table Rock Lake

It was a little cheaper than we would have spent at a nice condo.

Don’t get me started. For them to call this a resort is a crime. And for it to have Excellent ratings is very fishy. It is an old run down motel that was probably built in the 60’s. Somehow I didn’t look at all the pictures. I guess I went off the words, resort and the high rating and got duped. Our extended family come to Branson every Thanksgiving holiday and are used to staying at nice condos for around 10 people and I really screwed up on this one and you don’t want a lot of mad women on vacation. We had a room upstairs with 3 beds and a room downstairs with 2 beds. The stairs to get upstairs were scary and the balcony felt unstable.. The bathroom was so small and narrow, you could only get one person in and you almost had to turn sideways to get in. The water had a strong sulfur smell. Our refrigerator didn’t work. The tv only had a few channels (no ESPN, Disney, etc). My wife complained about the bed, saying she felt like she was going to roll down on me. Friday night, we were the only car in the parking lot and we got there around 10 pm. There were other vehicles Saturday night.

Nice clean rooms, great value. Owners were friendly and very accommodating.

Nice family hosting property. Very convenient for travelers with boat trailers. They are very accommodating about parking truck with trailer anywhere on property (and plenty of parking). Certainly the rooms are a pretty dated, but still very clean and quite well maintained. Outdoor lights right next to room door during summer allows for a lot of attracted bugs to get in during night when going in and out.

My daughter and I really enjoyed ourselves. For the same price of a room in the city, we got a little studio apartment here. There isn’t a lot of channels so they offer dvds to borrow. It was kinda nostalgic to me and my daughter liked it. It was near the water. They said across the street was the Corp of Engineers and they had a sand beach to swim for $5 a car. It’s a really great place to be to get to SDC, very close! It’s kinda like staying at your moms place. A little outdated but nice and little touches here and there. It was a very good value for what we got!! We will stay again!
