The Wellington Hotel

All the staff were great- lovely people and helpful. Breakfast was great, cooked to order and with a large choice

The first thing to say is that the Wellington is having renovations, and manager is fairly new in post. Our room wasn't one of the refurbished ones, which might explain some of the points below Check in took too long, at least 15 minutes before someone was available. The hotel thought we weren't on a B&B rate (we were!) On the first morning the water went off at 10.00 without warning as we were getting ready for a wedding. It was off for 30 mins The bed was lovely and comfortable, with good quality bedding. The bedroom does need a refresh, only the one bedside light with the on switch running behind the headboard. There was no plug within easy reach of the bed The bathroom window wouldn't stay open on its own

Just a heads up , no breakfast on a Monday but they do provide a take out bag as an alternative

We paid for a breakfast to be included and there was no breakfasts on both mornings staying .No apologies no replacement no refund ! Manager wasn’t a nice man ! Very sarcastic and patronising. We ended up paying for 2 breakfasts in a cafe up the road ! Very upsetting as we didn’t have extra to accommodate this !

Excellent room, very clean

A little warm in the room but we were on the top floor and that’s to be expected
