The location is terrible if you have luggage

Cool patio area, staff super chill

Breakfast was pretty light, very expensive for new years eve holiday(not great value), bathroom curtain very moldy

Volunteers were super nice

Got bed bugs here and overall the hostel is extremely dirty. The kitchen is a mess, with very old utensils and only one small stove that barely works. The fridge is full of rotten and leaking food, which is all stacked upon each other as there are no shelves in the fridge. The bunk bed arrangement had poor ladders up the three levels and the beds were uncomfortable. The night we stayed, the owner had a BBQ with all his friends, over 20 locals, not even staying at the hostel. They were walking throughout the hostel, one even came into our room while we were sleeping. As you can't lock the dorm room it felt very unsecure with all these people walking around the hostel who werent even guests. They were partying till 1 in the morning, super loud. The hostel was a mess after the party. Afterwards the volunteers told us this happens every week. Do not recommend staying here.

Despite the long walk up - which is obvious as the hostel is located on a beautiful cerro - the view from the hostel is lovely.

Rooms are too crammed, my mattress in the shared dorm was very uncomfortable (could feel the springs beneath), the room terrace and the kitchen were very messy (leftover food left around, dirty fridge, not enough space to move around), the reception area is also quite untidy.

Very nice hostel with family vibes, super friendly and helpful staff and a nice view over Valparaiso and the port. The price is perfectly reasonable in my opinion. Cute little rooms with some storage for your luggage and a common area to get to know other travellers and chat with them as well as the staff. A cute cat that wanders around, it belongs to the hostel. We felt very safe as well.

My bed was a little uncomfortable as some of the springs or something like that seemed to come through a bit. It was fine to sleep on but not the best I have had in South America.
