Silkwood Estate

The view and privacy of cabin. The close proximity of the water to the cabin. Cabin was spacious. The spa was perfect.

Breakfast was only for first morning and not for each morning of the stay. Restaurant was only open for lunch.

We loved the location very peaceful, the restaurant was great and loved the touch of a little breakfast hamper and complimentary bottle of wine.

The only only issue we had was the bed, it was quite firm and had a bit of a dip in the middle.

This is an excellent forrest retreat holiday for a couple. Lots of great bush walk trails next to cottages. Scenery from cottage balcony across lake to Forrest amazing. Also the on-site restaurant dining was superb as are their “Silkwood Estate” wines. Was a real treat and a memorable stay.

The villa was secluded & extremely comfortable. It was very well set up. The spa was large & relaxing. The kitchen was fully equipped. The complementary wine was a lovely touch. We ate lunch at the restaurant. The staff were amazing & the food was delicious.

The set-up for breakfast was excellent, and we had all the essentials. We also loved the yogurt, milk and eggs that were in the fridge. The suite itself was excellent and very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the views and serenity of the place. The free wine was also excellent and added a lovely touch upon our arrival.

There was definitely NO internet connection. We even checked with the staff at the restaurant and was informed that units 3 and 4 usually do not have connection! We couldn't use our mobile phones or watch any streaming services on the T.V. We were only able to access ONE channel - the local tv channel, and even that didn't work for us on the last day! The hand-set phone was also not working. The instructions for using the phone were provided but it did not work at all.

Location was great and quiet. There was a big storm one of the nights and the property still felt quiet and safe.

The bed was of poor quality/not stable and would wobble when sat in. Some of the lights were broken (above the spa bath).

Fabulous secluded retreat. Chalet was well appointed with everything you could possibly need, including wine! A well thought out layout harnesses the beautiful view of the lake from all rooms. Big 2 person spa bath and the gas fire made for a very romantic and comfortable stay. The on-site restaurant was excellent, this place is a new fave 😍
