Cottage was quiet and secluded with beautiful views of the lake. Breakfast Hamper was very much appreciated and had everything. The cottage was furnished well and had everything you might need. Would recommend Silkwood to stay.

We loved the spa bath, the fire place and the view of the lake. The birds were gorgeous to watch in the morning. The breakfast options, tea, coffee and wine were wonderful.

Cleaners must have left in a rush as cloths were left in the bathroom. There was no top sheet on the bed.

Close to the forest with lovely views of lake, flora and fauna which was perfect for walking and relaxing Our accommodation was light and bright, clean and private Self Contained with great cooking facilities.

- Host off site and not easily contactable to ask where to find the keys or on case of an emergency. - On arrival the room had an overwhelming smell of air freshener which was masking the smell of vomit (?). We had to open up all doors and windows and relocate air freshener bottles outside in a bag to remove the strong fragrance smell which was irritating our throat. This is not good if the guests have respiratory issues. We realised that the air freshener was masking the strong smell of vomit(?). We resorted to hot water and detergent to wipe down patches on the floor and wall that seemed to hold the odour. We ended up putting bowls of vinegar and bicarb soda out to absorb the odour and this improved the situation within a couple of days of our 7 day stay. However, the shag carpet in the lounge area still seemed to hold on to the smell of stale air freshener and other smells. - The bed could do with a new support mattress, one sheet had an old stain and a pillow case was frayed and should be decommissioned.

The property was very private with a beautiful outside area overlooking a lake. The property is located on an estate that is a vineyard with a restaurant. The furniture is stylish and comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped and stocked with wines from the vineyard that you can purchase. It is very peaceful and the bed was so comfortable we slept very well

A couple of sun lounge chairs and a table for the lower terrace would have been great .

It was just amazing, and beyond what I expected. The most private place we have ever stayed, and beautifully decorated, gorgeous views across the property. The restaurant is superb. We accidentally left our purchased wine behind when we left, along with some clothes, these were mailed to us

The spa bath, when booking, I know I pay extra when a spa is involved, but with a notice above the spa about the need to conserve water (which is tank water), it then just makes me feel guilty using the spa. It took up a lot of water , it was huge! Also difficult to operate properly, and required the spa to be full of water to get the jets working. Then the water sprayed everywhere! Communication is quite delayed, whether by email, or phone and my call and emails were not returned, requiring me to follow up by text. The answering machine message is confusing and gives options of whether you wish to speak to the Cellar door, or each individual unit. When booking, I advise that customers need to be aware that it is quite a distance from Pemberton and other local attractions.
