American Inn and Suites

First let me say this hotel is in a great location to everything in Port O’Connor. You can walk to the nearest boat ramp and the hotels parking lot has electrical outlets to charge the batteries on your boat. But… I have stayed at this hotel three times in the last three years and it seems to be getting in worse shape while the price goes up. We could never get our water above luke warm, the bathroom door wouldn’t stay closed, the main door was sagging and couldn’t latch the lock, the door would only open half way and then hit the bed so we had to shuffle in and out lol. I used to look the other way on these things when the price was half as much as it is now but I can’t recommend spending this much money on a room like that.

The way the a/c leaked off the second floor

Bathroom towels looked dirty, room had really bad layout where you had a hard time opening either front door or bathroom door. Bathroom smelled like hot garbage and had no AC and an exposed electrical box across from the shower. AC was really good. I would only recommend this to hardcore males that are there to fish and drink beer. In other words, don't bring a date, they won't be impressed.

Hotel is clean and definitely perfect for quick weekend

Simple hotel, clean, well located. I was there for 2 days of fly fishing. Hotel management straight forward and nice.

Hotel was very run down. It was in really bad condition. Management was very nice though.

Always a good place to stay!

The room was nice and clean. Had a big chair that was at the door made it difficult to enter and exit. Lady at the desk was pleasant. We are going to make reserves again for our next visit in April. Was close to the water and boat ramps. Didn't know if they offered a place to clean fish or not.
