Hanscom's Motel & Cottages

We really liked this cottage. It was only a couple miles from the park entrance but away from crowded Bar Harbor. Communications with the property manager was easy and all done by text. I would highly recommend staying here.

This is my third time staying here and I’ve never been disappointed. I’ve stayed here twice during the summer and once during the fall. The rooms are super cozy. The room is always so clean and smells great. It’s close enough to downtown and Arcadia National Park. When in the room you can’t hear the traffic. Hanscom’s is definitely a diamond in the rough. I also have to say Isis who works at the property is always super nice and fast with responding if you email her.

Cute room with chairs. The air conditioner is too close and caused discomfort not being able to adjust where it blew. The bed creaks. Great outdoor space to sit and relax.

Bathroom door didn’t close well

When I hear motel and cottages, my expectations are on the lower end. I was presently surprised when we opened the door to our cottage, however! The room was great and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, etc. While we didn't use the outdoor amenities, it was nice to see there were grills and fire-pits along with corn hole boards. Very lovely accommodations!

Would have been nice if they were a bit closer to downtown Bar Harbor but I'm sure the price would have gone up if that were the case!
