Not good. Dated rooms. Location good for the open air theatr

First impressions poor. Filthy carper. Bin liner full at the bottom of the stairs. Loose carper on the stairs which was dangerous. Not value for money. Didn't stay the night. Headed home

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend We had a very poor experience during our recent stay. When we arrived half an hour before check-in, we found the pub busy, with only two staff members serving. One was trying to handle a phone call regarding a hotel reservation and was reprimanded quite rudely by the other staff member for answering the phone – quite surprising, considering they were speaking to someone potentially bringing business in. We understood that early check-in wasn’t possible, so we went for a walk to the seafront (a good 20-minute walk away). The beach itself is beautiful, with some great bars and a lovely atmosphere – a real contrast to what we experienced at the hotel. We returned to check in around 4pm and were extremely underwhelmed by the room. It was very basic. The beds and mattresses seemed new but were of poor quality – when my husband got into bed, I was practically launched off mine. The sheets were loose and didn’t fit properly, and the bathroom floor and shower had visible marks and grime. We went downstairs for dinner, only to be told the kitchen had been closed, despite the hotel advertising food service all day. The staff seemed disengaged and unwelcoming. While we were in the bar, a police car arrived to speak with someone about unpaid wages – not exactly reassuring for paying guests. We took a taxi back down to the seafront to eat (which thankfully salvaged the evening a bit), but returned to the hotel around 8pm hoping to enjoy a drink in the bar. The same grumpy staff member was still there and called last orders at 9pm, claiming the CCTV wasn’t working. Whether this was true or not, it’s unacceptable to be refused drinks at 9:30pm on a Saturday when you’re staying at a hotel with nothing else nearby. The night’s sleep was awful – the bed was uncomfortable, and my husband said the shower was so bad he didn’t bother using it at all. We cut our stay short and left at 6:30am.

The bar downstairs is ok

Car park full with campervans that stay overnight. Room dirty in need of updating Carpets filthy Bed uncomfortable Tv remote not working Breakfast was supposed to be served from 8-9 went down at 8.20 and doors locked and nobody there other guests had been waiting since 8 but everyone just gave up in the end and left

Location. Car parking included. Big English breakfast in the morning. Decent pub food. Staff were alright.

Room wasn’t entirely clean when arrived, some dirt on bedding. Bit cramped for two people, and the shower was tiny. Bathroom window stuck open, couldn’t close it at all. Had to be really careful with shower, turn it to warm and it goes boiling hot, same with the sink. Kettle had some water left in it. Doors very heavy to open for getting upstairs to bedrooms. Beds not the best, but pillows were worse.

Staff were really friendly and helpful. The pub itself is nice. We were attending an event at the Scarborough open air theatre so the location was ideal

The entrance to the accommodation was very dirty. The room itself has seen better days. Only one plug socket in the entire room. I wasn't expecting the Ritz but I think it's overpriced for the money I paid

It looked nice from the outside and the location was good for us.

It was a bit dated, and not clean at all. There was only 1plug socket in the room which was not accessible for all guests. There were no cups in the room to make a drink. The breakfast was not good either.

The location is good for the open air theatre..

Expensive and seems that the business is doing well from accommodation and campervan's in the car park. Knock on effect they don't care too much about the pub.

Absolutely nice friendly people trying to make ago in these testing times, breakfast fantastic,just genuine staff making the short stay great

The building needs upgrading but these was explained by management,and myself and colleagues were very happy with the stay
