Heater was not working properly

The bar and kitchen are clean and well maintained. The new guy really tried hard to do a decent job with clearly very little training. Safe parking. It was dry and roach free.

Everything else. Staff disinterested. The hotel was abysmal. It Just needs gutting and a revamp. Every time the main door is open or closes it sounds like somebody throwing a chunk of concrete down a flight of stairs from the rooms above. The whole upstairs shakes. All night. Impossible to sleep. My kids started crying it got that bad. The bathroom was grotty. The radiator didn’t work. One flickering 30 year old light to light a room in 2025. I was expecting a baby to crawl across the ceiling ala trainspotting! Dirty towels were left from previous occupants. Worst of all, the stay was advertised as “breakfast included” which I paid for, but there was no breakfast. After a rubbish nights sleep I thought a decent breakfast could salvage the stay. Nothing. For a family with kids. We just got up and left. I doubt very much that complaints would’ve been taken seriously given the rest of the experience so why waste the effort? We just said thanks and went to the next pub along and had a lovely meal. Never again.
