Residence Inn by Marriott Greenville Downtown

Making up rooms is always hit or miss, no policy given but it looks like they come in twice a week...not what you expect for $200 a night. Breakfast is lame...bacon down to once a week now. Should have bacon or ham available every morning. Turkey sausage and chicken apple sausage are getting long in the tooth. Stayed in this hotel at least 6 times in the last 5 years.

Great location. Clean room. Comfortable. Fast valet service.

We checked out last week from the Residence Inn in downtown Greenville, South Carolina after a seven week stay after major storm damage to our home. I did a review earlier but now over the last few weeks the staff at this hotel has stepped up even more. I really can’t say enough about the kind, caring, competent people that work at this hotel. They heard that my wife had ended her chemo treatment and presented her with flowers while most of the staff in the hotel lined up and cheered for her. Lots of tears and hugs. The people that work the breakfast are some of the most cheerful, sweet people I’ve ever seen at a hotel. That also goes for the valet, maintenance, front desk, general manager, and assistant, general manager. I wish I had the names of every staff member but several that come to mind are Amber, Angela, Thomas and Marcia at the front desk - Edith and Julia in the breakfast area - Lynn and Jason in maintenance - TJ and Hudson working the valet. And it all stems from the leadership provided by Derek as general manager and Nikki as assistant general manager. It also should be mentioned that the amenities are outstanding. I enjoyed going to the gym in the morning. There’s also a heated pool and a beautiful atrium where you can use an outdoor grill or sit in front of the fire pit. Just wonderful! We will literally always remember our seven weeks day of this beautiful hotel.

My king room was awesome! Huge comfy and had everything we needed.

Check in sets the tone for one's stay and our check in was gruff. We continued to talk about how we were treated on our way to the room. This hotel is very lovely and we had a corner room with 2 bed/bath. Very comfortable. However it was strange to run out of TP for only a 2 night stay and the restaurant never opened up even though we were told at check in it would open on Thursday afternoon. We will come back due to the flexible room options and beautiful décor.

My wife and I discovered this hotel when our home was seriously damaged by a tree during the hurricane. We have now been here exactly a month. From the moment we got here, we have had nothing but the very best experience. The general manager, Derek, goes out of his way to help us and we have observed him going above and beyond to help people in great need due to being displaced by the storm. His leadership clearly works it's way down through the entire staff. And I do mean everyone. There are really too many names to mention but Jason in maintenance, Amber, Timothy and Angela at the front desk, John in the Oak and Honey restaurant, Edith, Juliana, Reynaldo and Paula at breakfast and actually every single person working the incredible breakfast experience each morning...they ALL have smiles on their faces and treat each guest like they are important. It is truly remarkable. I should also add that the amenities are top notch. Great gym, small heated pool, on-site restaurand and bar, and a beautiful outdoor atrium are always clean and inviting. Losing your house is hard, but the people at the Residence Inn have been a silver lining to our difficult experience. After a month, you'd think I had something critical to say, but I honestly can't come up with anything. I highly recommend this hotel in every respect.

Everyone and I mean everyone who works there is friendly and make you feel at home. It started with parking the car. The young boy RED, my nick name for him was awesome!! It all starts there!! Thank you

The separate rooms were really great for privacy, in addition to two bathrooms! Always a plus when traveling with multiple people. The living area was comfy and felt clean to sit on.

A few extra towels were requested and not received, but it was no big deal. Everything was great!

I don’t know if I’ll be able to describe exactly how unprofessional and rude the staff at this hotel was. Marcia in particular was incredibly unpleasant when trying to figure out the details of my stay. As someone displaced by Hurricane Helene, the last thing I needed this week was the untrained and unwilling staff I dealt with at this hotel. I have never experienced such gross encounters from any Marriott hotel and am left confused and worn out after dealing with them for three days. Whatever you do, do not book this hotel. Plenty of other options in the same area with staff that treats guests properly.
