Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse

Literally awful. Rooms had no AC, super humid and the window was broken. No private bathroom, so another huge loss.

The guesthouse was located in a very quiet, beautiful area. There was a restaurant onsite which made it very convenient to end the day with some delicious food an drinks. The staff were exceptionally helpful and kind.

Nice guesthouse with good breakfast

Nice property with backpacker feel to it, located on the working farm. Rooms rather small and with basic furniture, but nice lounge to hang out. Staff very friendly and efficient. Good breakfast as part of the deal. It was good option for our needs, would stay again.

Rooms were small but satisfactory. Bathrooms and showers were down the hall, to be shared with other guests. They were very clean and kept up. I would have liked bathrobe provided for walking to bathroom at night. Our room was extremely hot. And stuffy... heater was unplugged and we couldn’t open the window. We had dinner there. It was very good. Breakfast very good, also. Staff friendly and helpful.

Guesthouse out in the country - quiet, quaint and nice. Rooms small but cozy and comfortable. Shared common space with kitchen nice for the evenings to unwind.

Close to all the beautiful outdoor sites of southern Iceland. Owners were very kind and helpful. Good breakfast.

We enjoyed our 1 night stay at Sólheimahjáleiga Guesthouse in April 2024, and would definitely stay there again on our next visit to Iceland.

Such wonderful hosts here, beautiful and comfortable accommodations too. The family room was perfect for our family of parents, and two teenagers. Enjoyed seeing the Northern Lights out back, facing East. Fantastic breakfast too. We enjoyed the chickens too!
