The Villa Green Inn

The hotel building was lovely, very well kept, clean with beautiful gardens and two swimming pools. It felt very safe too. Good, spacious room and bathroom.

The staff weren't overly friendly as we had experienced around the island. We ordered a bottle of wine with our dinner and the waiter (also the man on the reception) put the wine bottle on the table and walked off! We had to go over to the kitchen to ask for a cork screw! A little bit disappointed with breakfast for the price we paid. Small plate of fruit, toast with tiny squares of butter and an omelette the size of a small saucer! Even in cheaper places we had always had a good breakfast.

The room we received did not correspond with that of the pictures (they falsely advertised the suite as the standard queen), and the room was dirty- particularly the bathroom. Upon check-out, we were charged an additional fee that they claimed was a booking.com fee (despite the email that showed total cost including booking.com fee). They did however have beautiful gardens and pool, and were well organised with the airport transfer.

We liked the property but it lacked of love. It could be so beautiful. Furniture in bedroom was a bit tired and so was the bathroom. Which is a shame !

Great location near airport for our final night in Sri Lanka - easy for early morning flight.

Nothing. Good hotel

It is beautiful, quiet and most importantly properly clean to European standards!

Nothing to dislike. Only criticism is that their airport transfer is 6000 SLR whereas on Pickme (A Uber equivalent) it was 2000 SLR.

Breakfast was good, but there was not much of it.

A quiet secluded place good for recovering from a long haul flight. Food was excellent. Rooms were spacious and clean. Two pools. We swam in the larger one. It’s a bit tired looking but perfectly fine and a reasonable size and depth. The staff were nice - I had a good chat with the older gentleman Victor.

The only thing that let the place down was the poor welcome upon arrival. They gave us no confidence that we had even arrived at the right place! And when we asked for food they said lunch was over. With a little push they did then make us a sandwich and excellent fries. It’s a shame we had to push. It didn’t feel warm and welcoming especially for our children who already felt a little unsettled arriving in a new country/climate/time zone/etc.
