The location

This room was very noisy during the night Shaving hairs found on sink and shower grubby at the edges

The location is in the very pretty village of Almondsbury, close to the M5 and Bristol. We stay here to attend Badminton Horse Trials which is about a 30 minute journey. The pub itself has character and we think the food is fabulous, if a little pricey. We usually stay in the same room which is described as a Signature twin room. It is a nice size, ensuite and the beds are comfortable. The double patio doors open straight onto the public outdoor terrace which is a little difficult if we want some fresh air and we need to get changed. Not a problem though really. Staff lovely, friendly and helpful.

Not a criticism but as mentioned above, our room is described as a Signature room, which I think means the room showcases what accommodation is on offer. I think the room desperately needs a coat of paint and a new carpet, cleaning around the patio doors and some attention around the shower cubicle, floor and skirting to bring it back up to Signature level. Still love the room though.

Free car parking, stunning property, charismatic in a beautiful village.

It’s perfect!

The Bowl Inn is in the village of Almondsbury being very near the M5 and roads in to Bristol but nicely tucked away so quite peaceful situated on a small lane, It is next to the lovely church and you can walk up the hillside to see the fabulous views over the Severn Valley. The hotel is old and we arrived with a log fire burning so it immediately felt cosy My partner had meetings in the area so it was convenient for him. The staff were very welcoming. Our room was lovely but we had to move to another which the staff effected quickly and efficiently and the second room was also lovely which a view over to the church. Lovely furnishings and comfortable bed with en suite shower. We ate at the inn - I had the trout with beetroot and my partner had the Vietnamese squid salad which was stunning. The chef happened to come into the cosy restaurant and we congratulated him on this - it turned out it was the first day of his new menu so he was very pleased. I had to hang round while my partner went to his meeting and it was a pleasure to peacefully read my book in comfort. A lovely stay

These was a small issue with our original room but we were moved to another lovely one swiftly so it didn't make any difference and the staff were great

Het was heel proper, proficiat aan de cleaner. Verder is het een heel gezellige pub.

Ik kreeg de kamer niet die ik op booking geboekt had. Kleiner en daar de vensters helemaal geblindeerd waren heel closterfobisch . De manager werd erbij geroepen en die beweerde dat die kamer niet bestond zoals op de foto! De man was heel vals (fake) intriest om zo een hotel te runnen. De kamer was de tavern recht over de mijne heb ik bemerkt aan het raam vooraan / niet bezet !! Het was trouwens heel kalm. Hij stelde wel een andere kamer voor met een meerprijs van 17 pond ! Die kamer heb ik opgezocht op jullie site en die was aan 90 pond geprijst voor 2 personen. Ik betaald mijn 1 persoonskamer met een smal bed 98 pond en moest nog een meerprijs betalen voor die andere. Ik keek ernaar uit om daar te dineren maar daar had ik helemaal geen zin meer in. Eerste keer dat ik zoiets meemaakte en gelukkig al veel mooie plaatsen gehad !

The bathroom had a couple of patches of mildew which looked like it could have been cleaned more thoroughly.

Nice welcome, taken to room, nice and very clean with kettle coffee etc. Booked for evening meal, had table prepped but chose to eat outside as lovely weather, no problem from the staff Lovely food, and breakfast cooked superb.

The location is great for us, near relatives. It’s a very quaint hotel. The rooms are small but have everything you need. The beds are very comfortable. The restaurant is good, and the breakfasts are delicious. Free parking across the road.
