Antas Ville Guesthouse

Staff were friendly when we checked in, and helpful, however after returning later from a football match, we found our bedroom door was left open, when we had closed it. The staff said they had left it open "after cleaning our bathroom to let air flow". This is very strange, as the room was clean when we checked in. They shouldn't have gone into our room, until after we had left. This is not acceptable as valuables were left in the room. The rooms could also do with a TV.

Antas Ville is a great place to stay in Porto especially because of it's owners. They really attach importance to the details and love to host people. Ana is always there to great you with a smile. She speaks perfect english. We spend lots od time listening to her precious advices about where to go and what to see in Porto during the bad weather we had. She and her husband are so welcoming that we felt relaxed right away. The room we had was simple but cozy and spotless clean. I loved the glass sink in our bathroom! The wi-fi in the room was solid and fast and the continental breakfast was always elegantly served. Oh! And, not that we cared but for the fans of football it is close to FC Porto stadium :) We would definitely come back!

I stayed at Antas Ville while attending a conference in Porto earlier in the month. I stayed in a very pleasant double room, with a really nice bathroom, at a very reasonable rate. Ana and her family are lovely, and Ana (who speaks excellent English) was extremely helpful, telling me about Porto and helping me to organise taxis when I needed them. I found Antas Ville very friendly and comfortable, and was very glad that I stayed there rather than in some soulless hotel!

Very nice place, everything was wonderful. The staff was very carying, friendly, smiling every time. It was very cozy and warm place. We had to check out early in the morning and Ana even packed our breakfast!

I had a really nice stay. Everything was really warm and familiar. But since I am traveling alone I give only 4 points, because I was the only Packpacker there and I expected to meet more people. But for a couples vacation it's perfect!

Ana had all the time in the world to assist with my first time visit to Porto queries. Lovely family. Would recommend wholeheartedly to all. Kitchen available and breakfast hour is flexible. Trains are easy to get toand tourist info centres can help direct you. Lovely Portuguese person will help you from there.

Personally I lived there for 6 weeks i was on Ryanair training and evrything was fine, Especially the Owners Ana and Ruben they treat you like your family will do, they're always available at anytime of the day, nice and comfortable i like the house and is not far from the nearest metro or bus stop. The breakfast in the morning it's a nice idea especially for who can't spent so much time for it and all includes. Thanks again! Lorenzo

We spent 2 days in Antas Ville and everything was 10/10. Rooms are completely renovated and quite big, toilets are like 5 star hotel ones the entire hostel is also very clean and they have a living room with nice sofas, chairs and tables where you can have a snack or a chat with someone. They also have a very nice and quiet garden where you can sit down with friends/family/couple at the end of the day to have a drink/chat/study. The owners helped us as much as they could, recommending places to eat, what to visit... and always up to have a nice chat, so we did not feel like guests but like in our own house. The metro is just 4 minutes walking from the house, also the Estadio Do Dragao (Porto's stadium) and there are several buses 2 minutes walking from the house that will drop you off in the city centre. Many locals around to have something to eat at quite affordable price. So yes, I definitely would recommend everybody to stay in Antas Ville.

I definitelly recommend this hostel. Everything was perfect - service, room, breakfast. The hostel has family atmosphere. We met really kind and warm people there. Especially Ana was helpful and she told us and recommed us some activities, places and restaurants. Only location could be more in center, however you can take a metro.

Antas Ville is a lovely hostel with the nicest owners! Everything is completely renovated, very modern with a nice vintage touch. When we met the owner and her family we felt very welcome. They gave us the best (!) tips for sightseeing and places for having dinner. You really feel that they love their city. Although the hostel is not located in the city centre, you can easily reach the centre taking the metro. The station is nearby and easy to find. We really enjoyed staying at Antas Ville and we will definitely stay there again when coming back to Porto one day.
