Disappointing. The check in process was cumbersome with much required info that had to be sent 4 times before finally receiving the key code just a few hours before arrival. The apartment was not clean and very sparsely equipped. No handsoap or hand towels, 2 half-used toilet rolls, no closets, etc. The shower handle was broken and the freezer blocked with ice and the entire apt was very dusty. We tried to call the cust service numbers and no one answered, even in the emergency number. Finally, after two days and several emails someone came in to clean properly. Too bad, because the location is very good.

Would not recommend this apartment The good things- great location. The bad things- the house was dark and smelt damp. There was mould on the bathroom walls and the bedroom walls. The shower door didn’t close which meant large amounts of water went all over the floor. The shower was only warm for 1-2 showers which meant half the group couldn’t shower at the same time. Pictures were not the same as the actual flat so were very misleading. The flat also looks onto a relatively busy road and there is a bar opposite where large groups of people drink outside into the early hours of the morning. Tried to email regarding these issues and didn’t get a response for 3 days. Advised these issues would be ‘sorted’ but didn’t help our trip

Our family was pleasantly surprised with the space and comfort in our R. Gaivotas apartment. Bedrooms were large and welcoming, as was the sitting room with TV and dining. The surrounding area was mostly quiet (as long as the windows were shut) and just a 10-15 minute walk (albeit uphill) to the bustling hub of the city. Tram 28 stops just around the corner, and there were plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. We had a few minor plumbing issues (hot water heater had to be reset, drains were slow, fixtures a bit loose) but all were manageable and honestly to be expected in older European properties. A/C worked very well, and the washing/drying machine was very useful! Bring your own toiletries- only bar soap provided. Host was kind and responsive with clear instuctions. We would stay again!

The property was in a great area of Lisbon, very walkable to local sights and transportation. The apartment itself was lovely, with a few minor grievances. If you plan to cook meals, this is not the apartment for you. Things such as spatulas, kitchen towels, etc were very sparse and there were only a few cups stocked. Also, the appliances are very fancy (not just a regular microwave, but a combination microwave/oven that did not have directions). Just an FYI for families traveling who like to make a few meals in the apartment to offset travel costs. The door handles are extremely hard to turn and open the doors, which would be a big challenge for little kids. Overall the stay was nice, but the kitchen was definitely lacking. The hosts were fabulous and very communicative and the apartment was very clean.
