Great location . Staff were friendly and helpful but little English . Good breakfast and dinner was popular

Drying room was rarely heated and boots were cold and hard to get on . Steep stairs with no railings . Entry steps could use rubber coating , very difficult with skis and boots . Toilet downstairs, difficult at night .

Staff are very friendly. Shared amenities were very clean - there were also two different sized onsen baths available for guests to use which was great after a day on the snow. A massive drying room was available for use for all guests which was great for all our snow gear. Breakfast was fantastic - we stayed for 3 days and it was a different cuisine everyday. Location was about a 100m walk to the Yodel Chairlift of Akakura Onsen ski field.

The family that run the property are so lovely and so helpful. The Rooms are actually quite large and the private onsens are a nice treat. This lodge is in a perfect location, in the middle of the busy area of akakura with bars and restaurants around. The lodge also has a restaurant attached that offers great meals - I recommend the Sukiyaki

Great location, warm and clean. Onsen and good restaurant on site. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to carry our bags up the stairs and drive us to the train station. Ski hire 50 metres from the Lodge.

While we had a fantastic stay the stairs to the rooms and toilets are quite steep. This might be challenging for older people.

Transfers to and from Myoko Station would be helpful rather than being referred to taxi.

Wonderful Cosy rustic Traditional Authentic Janpanses Hotel/Restaurant/Museam run by local hardworking family that did everything to make our stay Fantastic. Daily breakfast was excellent and the night we are in was 100%. 2x In-house complementory Onsen. So morning and night. Before and after the slopes. Couldn't have lasted a week on the slopes without it. Central to all the restaurants, bars and everything else in Akakura Onsen area

Great authentic Japanese family run lodge, such a special way to start off our Japan holiday private onsen is amazing too

The lodge is cosy and well run. The location is fantastic, right in Akaura Onsen town. The onsen is lovely. The rooms are exactly what we expected in a small ski style lodge. Great drying room. Most importantly, the staff were amazing. They were so friendly and helpful. We didn't speak Japanese, but the staff helped us with a smile and lots of google translate! We left an ipad in the room after we had checked out and it was promptly forwarded onto us at our next location. We will definitely use this lodge next time we are in Akakura.
