The Otunna Guest House

The location was fantastic, the beautiful gardens were lush and breakfast was amazing! Dinesh and his family were so welcoming and helpful to us. Dinesh went above and beyond to help us charge our self drive electric tuk tuks. Such a lovely place to stay and enjoy our time in Sigiriya. The local people of the village were so friendly as well.

Dinesh and his family went far and beyond to ensure that all of our needs were catered for (transportation, meals, excursions). The location was wonderful and serene, with the room overlooking the well-maintained garden. The breakfast was the BEST we had in Sri Lanka and was a real highlight. I couldn’t recommend this place enough, everything was exceptional.

The whole family made our stay unforgettable. The breakfasts were absolutely huge and delicious!! Great location, easy walk to the action but in its own peace and quiet. Loved the jungle vibes.

Dinesh and his family were an absolute joy to be around. I could have stayed with them for two weeks. The care and attention they put into their accommodation and coffee shop are a credit to Sigiriya. I hope to be back one day. I will never be hungry again after eating the glorious dinners and breakfasts!

It’s impossible to dislike anything. But I will say one important thing. We made an effort to choose experiences that felt responsible and respectful, particularly around wildlife. There are many options available, and not all are equal. Places that prioritise animal welfare and authentic local engagement stood out as the most meaningful parts of our trip, and are well worth seeking out. Sri Lanka is full of wonderful people and beautiful wildlife, and it’s a special place because of that. I hope it can stay that way as tourism grows.
