Los Camilos

The suites were quite unique and very spacious as was the bathroom. The kitchen area was perfect for when you didn't want to go out to dinner but with the restaurant right there and good food and service, we didn't want to do any cooking for ourselves. The room was clean and well organized with both a closet and dresser. I also liked that the restaurant was right there as well as a fun pizza place and it was a short walk to the busier area of Coyoacan. The area was quiet with a beautiful park across the the street. The property was extremely accommodating as we ended up with a very late arrival and the security person stayed to ensure we arrived and got settled in. Overall it was a fantastic stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again or to recommend this property.

The only thing that could have been better was the lighting in the bathroom. It was a little too dark.

The room was nice: romantic, large, good water pressure in the bath.

1) Management never mentioned the leaky roof, that left the kitchen under inches of water 3 times during the 5 nights I spent here. A really big mess, water running down the walls and pooling on the floor. 2) The kitchen served me bad (stinky, old) fish that made me sick for two days after eating only two bites. Mexico is FULL of great cooks - I refuse to believe this ciil did not know the fish was old. 3) a drunk came rattling my door at 3am on Saturday night. Despite the locked compound, apparently security is not that tight. 4) All this for $195.80 a night - far more than other nice hotels in the area charge.

location was good, bathroom was huge and nice (r had #4 I think) and it was nice having a coffee machine in the room. overall a cute property (which is mostly restaurant)

we made the mistake of eating in the restaurant - don’t. really not good food although the staff were quite nice. the room itself was very dark and cramped.

It's an interesting gimmick to stay in a former convent. Staff provided ample drinking water. Close to the heart of Coyoacan but far enough away to not be too busy (~8 minute walk)

There isn't much service as it seems like a side business for the restaurant. Rooms are not as secure as a hotel. Having to enter and exit the grounds through a side gate outside restaurant hours was a bit inconvenient. The door had a 3/4" gap in it allowing people to see in and ants to enter. There was a dangerous live electrical outlet with exposed bare contacts. The shower has no door or curtain allowing water to splash out into the rest of the bathroom. Room allowed all noise from rowdy neighbors in. Some neighbors smoked in the courtyard in front of my room allowing smoke in.

I loved walking home and passing through a beautiful colonial courtyard with music, food, and drink. We splurged on getting the room with the jacuzzi bath, and it was worth every peso.

The rooms were a bit sparse on furniture. The only trashcan was the tiny one in the bathroom next to the toilet, for example, which was a minor inconvenience. Overall the rooms were charming but a bit spartan--to nitpick, some rugs or additional lighting might make for a softer room.
