Very cute boutique hotel with beautiful inner courtyard and and rooms/suites in Coyoacan. Very good restaurant adjacent to the hotel. Many cafés and restaurants close by.

We had a nightmare getting to the accommodation because of traffic, but the host was extremely flexible and understanding of our situation. Also, we had a night flight when leaving, and the host allowed us to use the room all day, which was a massive help. The accommodation was in the perfect location, especially if you are a Frida Kahlo fan!

The kitchen light flickered a lot, and we could probably benefit from a fan.

"Fix some of the basics and it would be a nice place to stay."

1.0

The location and staff were good. The room was cleaned nicely every morning.

It smelt like sewage. The hot water didn’t work. It was noisy from the creaky floors and the restaurant underneath. It was difficult to find for the first time, and difficult to check out before staff arrived for their shift. The AC rattled so we couldn’t sleep with it on.

"Rustic charm"

8.0

We stayed here for 2 nights over New Year’s Eve. We loved staying here, it was comfortable and the rustic attention to detail is excellent. The location of Los Camilos is about a 7 minute walk to the centre square and there are a number of restaurants along the way. It is conveniently located to all the attractions of Coyoacán without being right in the Zócalo. We never met the host but communicated via the message function in Booking.com. We had an eSIM so this was possible for us, but if you didn’t have reception or relied on Wifi it may be a problem for you. It appeared that the restaurant staff were the ones to let us up into our room and they were lovely and accomodating. Rustic charm and attention to detail was appealing and we would recommend Los Camilos to other travellers.

The only room for improvement is to sort out the hot water, which took quite some time to warm up and it was still only like warm.

"Amazing first holiday in Mexico City"

It was our first time in Mexico and it was amazing. Great breakfast and good location directly in Coyocan next to the Frida Kahlo Park. We loved our stay in El Convento!

"I absolutely LOVE this place!"

10.0

The room, building, restaurant and courtyard are beautiful! This is a historic site, and you can read about it here: https://mexicocity.cdmx.gob.mx/venues/casa-de-los-camilos/ It was so rustic and quaint, yet had very comfortable and modern amenities. The courtyard is gated, so it feels very private and secure when you relax outside in the evening. Our room had a separate kitchenette with a bistro table. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is fantastic, and they usually had live musicians. There is a lovely park across the street, and it is a short walk to the Coyoacan center and market, which we LOVED! So many amazing restaurants and shops and street vendors. I will absolutely stay here again!

There wasn't anything I didn't like, but I would love to know more about the history of the building. It would be so cool of they had a flyer in the room that told more about it and maybe some old photos from the past, or a QR code to a web page about the history.
