The Westin South Coast Plaza, Costa Mesa

Stayed here for a week for business. A medium to large hotel next to South coast mall. So it’s convenient if you need a quick mall meal or Sephora. Also just a mile walk away from Santa Ana In-n-out Check in was good, and front desk friendly throughout the week. Didn’t get an upgrade despite my Ambassador status though Room was ok but typical US style and old. They may have renovated years ago as lucky there’s the shower stall and not bathtub. You can ask for water and toothbrush as not prepared in the room Gym medium sized but the treadmill i was on was not functioning well. Nice outdoor pool The breakfast is at the lobby lounge. Expensive if you order a la carte. Ok if you use a coupon for continental set (just toast and yoghurt basically)

Here all the time with work. Great place but….. they play hideously loud obnoxious music in the gym. Impossible to use your own earbuds or enjoy a workout. Have spoken with management numerous times. They do not care and say it’s Westin’s music. I stay at Westin’s all over the US, Mexico and Canada. No other Westin does this. Wish I didn’t have to stay here, workouts are important.

I had an issue with the charges. First $125 when I got in for damages and they is understandable to cover their end. The next day I got charged for $180.17 but when i went to check to see what the charge was for the staff said they didn’t know and it’s an auto charge. The data I checked out and left I got another charge for $125 but I already checked out. Now I have to wait to get my money. So odd.

This Westin hotel is exactly what i expect when i stay at a westin property. Property- The exterior and interior of the property are clean and well maintained. Lobby area is welcoming and what i expect of a property of this level. Valet parking is expensive but the valets are great, welcoming, fast and open vehicle and hotel doors for us. Check in went smooth and we were given free water bottles. Room- clean and in good condition. What i would expect from a westin. Nothing overly fancy, but typical westin. Very comfortable bed. Negative- only negative is room service. I tried to order breakfast online and the app told me all breakfast items were unavailable, even within breakfast times listed. Did not try ordering over phone as i gave up. Location- great location across the street from south coast plaza. The hotel seemed calm among the business surrounding it.
