Bristol Hotel Frankfurt

Very bad neighborhood with more people sleeping and loitering in the streets than in the buildings. Hotel needs an update. Rooms are small but clean. If you don’t hold the shower head your entire bathroom will be soaked. A lot of noise from the streets all night. I did not feel safe. We left right after waking up, so didn’t use breakfast in the hotel so can’t say how that is. (Only)Plus: very close to Hauptbahnhof

Breakfast great! Convenient location to commercial transportation and access to central city.

The location was excellent, close to the train, restaurants, and the local transport. We went to Roemerburg on the S-bahn. The front desk cheerfully stored our luggage when we arrived too early to check in. The rooms were basic but clean, comfortable and relatively quiet. Great for the price for sure. The breakfast room was fantastic. Open early enough for us to eat before 7:00am, so we could catch our train to the airport. Staff there were lovely. Rick Steeves (2023) described the Bristol as "swanky", but it is getting rather worn...

This is a Hotel, in which the picture doesn’t match the actual hotel. The service is terrible. When I asked for an extra pillow they didn’t have any pillow not sure which what kind of hotel doesn’t have extra pillows. The hotel is in a very unsafe location. It’s even a little scary to go out of the hotel during daytime not sure how they got a three start rating. Definitely not staying in this hotel again avoid at all cost.

Cheap stay, convenient near the station but the room I had was obviously worn, nasty carpet, old appliances. Bed was nice, but the area arpund the hotel was also loud and messy

Where do I start...not a 3* or 4* hotel at all, more like a 2* at the very best and on a very good day, staff dependant. No Manager available when asked for and staff interested. HOTEL AND ROOMS Poor quality hotel in need of cleaning and updating from the 70's decor and lacklustre lights in the rooms. Safes were in rooms but either were locked in the open position and you could not reset them or were shut and locked! The carpets are stained in most rooms, god knows what some of it is and the cleaners attempt to vacuum our rooms was a shambles...would have been better using a hand held fan and moving that to and throw. The sofas were also stained and dirty, not sure if they have ever been cleaned because the lighting is so bad. As for the rest of the hotel in general for cleanliness then it's bad here too. Empty water drinks bottles left in reception for days at a time, tissues stuffed in glass left on the tables and general mess here and there. As for the corridors on the way to the rooms then not sure if they have ever actually been cleaned at all. Of the 3 rooms we had as a group booking we had to swap one room as we did not realise that the actual main lock on the room did not work for two nights or our three night stay. This was reported to reception who did not grasp the issue and just reset the room key. On the second time of trying to explain we were given our third room. STAFF Might be an idea to train your staff how to deal with issues the right way and teach them about the local area and perhaps a breakdown on knowledge of the brochures that your hotel has in its lobby. At one point we asked about the Frankfurt Rheincard and if this was sold at the hotel. They did not have a clue what it was and where it was sold! The staff do not seem to wear any type of uniform and could be anyone! There is no Manager and the hotel is run by staff who in our view need lots of training on customer care and the types of issues that might arise from customers. On two occasions whilst waiting in line to speak to them, people pushed in and they dealt with them, instead of telling them to wait! Did not ask about our stay and could not really be bothered, as long as everyone paid the city tax. Absolute rubbish.... LOCATION Good location....sort of. Once you know the area and find the less travelled way to the main railway station (use the Tourist info office here) then that helps with planning trips etc. If you do not then be aware that the area and roads leading to the hotel from the city are lined with many, many unsavoury characters (would even say gangs) . The area smells from urine and drugs and the foul language used around here is really bad too. Lots of mess and broken glass everywhere as well and even syringes and needles. FOOD Needless to say, we did not eat at the hotel given the state of everything else. Am enclosing a few photos that show the above

Hotel is in poor condition. Carpets are badly stained in hallways and rooms, walls and doors damaged and scuffed, curtains hanging off rails. Feels like this would have been a very smart property in the past but our guess is they've not got a full time maintenance person and insufficient cleaning staff. There is also no Manager on site and things are left to very junior reception staff who take zero responsibility. Only plus was its proximity to the station, but that would definitely not be enough to bring us back or recommend.

The curtains and floors were dirty, the floors in the corridors were dirty and carpets were peeling off. When I asked reception for a fork to eat dinner with they said "breakfast is closed" and didn't provide a fork, continuously saying "breakfast is closed, breakfast is closed." A terrible part of the city as well, loud and with sketchy people. Would not walk around by myself.
