The room was incredible, deeply rich in Japanese culture while still having all of the modern amenities. The entry way as well as the shared spaces all flowed well and showcased how thoughtful the host was.

"Traditional comfortable ryokan in a peaceful quiet part of Kyoto"

This was such a fun place to experience a traditional Japanese ryokan. It’s in a great location in the old town, super quiet at night, though was a bit of a walk at night to the more lively neighbourhoods we had dinner in. The private onsen was amazing after a long day of walking and exploring Kyoto. We also loved how big the rooms were, the delicious Japanese breakfast each morning, and the little dessert plate each night. The whole hotel was so beautiful, and the manager was so sweet. We had our bags delivered from Tokyo and they were waiting for us on arrival - it was super easy.

Excellent location. Exceptional welcome and service. Felt like a home away from home. Would highly recommend adding the breakfast. Two of our best meals on our trip. The futon was very comfortable to sleep on.

Nothing bad to say about our stay.
