Sheraton Anchorage Hotel

This place is old and run down. Nothing seems to have been done for years. Shower in the bath. Tap was faulty, all the wooden furniture was chipped in multiple areas. Splinter hazard. Located directly opposite a cemetery and out of town. A bit of a walk to get to anything such as shops and restaurants. Elderly and impaired would be forced to eat onsite. Bed was comfortable. I won't be back here.

Not a 4 star hotel, maybe 3. Good sized room. Comfy, clean bed. Poor furniture. Chipped, scratched, worn. Room safe missing, when supplied didn’t work. Service in breakfast area very poor. Had to search for waiting staff to get coffee refilled. Breakfast food choice poor. Items not being replenished. Quality generally poor. Room rate expensive. Very poor value.

Counter staff/reception are not very unfriendly and do not show a service mindset. While the Staff at breakfast counter are friendly and help out when called upon.

go all out to make your customer feel welcome especially for me who have travelled for over 20hours from Singapore to Anchorage, and to chance upon an unfriendly smile at the reception.

Lyn gave us incredible service at the front desk helping us with our rooms and giving fantastic recommendations around the city for dinner. Her and the rest of the staff were extremely welcoming and friendly throughout our stay.

Our stay here was very good. Our first nights stay in Anchorage was extremely disappointing at a hotel next to the train station. If it was not for proximity to the early start to arrive at the train in the morning we would have immediately moved to the Sheraton which was much more pleasant for two additional nights in the city.

Would have been better off staying in the military barracks. Very disorganized and rude, didn’t care to even try to find our room. Our booking was made last April but they overbooked. Worst C.F I have seen since working for the military. Couldn’t wait to get out. The prices in the restaurant are ridiculous

Clean but nothing special. Not sure what other options were like. Anchorage downtown area isn’t too big so everything is close. It’s average. Nothing is bad but nothing memorable. It’s hard to fill the minimum for this review so just know it’s average

No spa. Room service had to be requested but no one had told us this at check in. Limited breakfast choices for pastries and vegetables. Location was not as "downtown " as we had thought - quite a walk to get anywhere apart from the museum. The hotel felt quite tired and in need of a refurbishment.

First of all, the hotel photos on the website were exaggerated, and I had booked and confirmed two rooms through Expedia, but when I checked in at the hotel, they only told me that only one room was reserved, and that one of the rooms had been cancelled by Expedia, and that I should contact Expedia since I did not book directly with the hotel. However, there was no cancellation notice on my Expedia account. It was also difficult to contact them by phone from Alaska. In the end, the hotel gave me two rooms that were connected, but one of the rooms did not have a bathroom, so it was not comfortable for five people. So I was grateful that I could only stay one night.
