"Stunning"

10.0

Gorgeous stay, host was second to none, very accommodating, she filled the fridge with breakfast bits, and added fans to help with the heatwave and ice and ice lollies, sofabed was made up and super comfortable. The little touches just made it such a lovely stay

The heat but nothing she could have done about that.

"Lovely, friendly B&B"

8.0

Excellent location for both Cardiff and Caerphilly and a wonderful welcome from Lisa. Superb, plentiful breakfast - including homemade jam!

We had a twin room but it was very small for 2 people - perhaps exacerbated by arriving during a prolonged heatwave. However, a good fan was provided which really helped at night.

Another fabulous stay at Ty Mynydd. The lodge is so comfortable and well set up and Lisa is really welcoming and helpful. I appreciated the breakfast items available right there in the lodge and it all made for a great weekend. Thank you!

"A hidden gem"

Lisa the host was amazing, warm, friendly and helpful. Her knowledge of the area and what it has to offer was phenomenal and her advice regarding travelling into Cardiff was priceless. Breakfast was lush with lots of choice and the room was large and comfortable.

"The host was really lovely and friendly"

The breakfast was good although brown bread for toast would have been nice

The room was small which was manageable but the bathroom was tiny. The bed was quite hard but the fan in the room did help with the heat.

"Could be better."

6.0

Thought we were getting a cooked breakfast considering the price we paid but it was £9.50 pp extra. However plenty of cereal, pastries, and bread supplied but we hardly had any of it and had to ask for t bags and sugar as tea, coffee and sugar caddies were empty. There was opened bags of coffee in the cupboard. Not high quality produce but adequate. Dressing gowns provided was a nice touch.

The overall accommodation is tired. Several maintenance issues such as, floor feels as though it’s collapsing in places under the lino, toilet seat needs tightening, tv in lounge crooked, front French doors stiff and hard to close and bedroom door doesn’t close. No window in bedroom it was stuffy, fan provided but who can sleep with a fan going. Blackout blinds would be good as it was too light. Shelf in bathroom for toiletries would be useful. Cleanliness could be better all over, toilet brush was really dirty, mugs stained. No attention to detail such a shame as host friendly.
