"Lovely peaceful break for family with five yr old"

10.0

We had the best time at April Cottage. Such a lovely peaceful place, we only had one night there but feel very nourished and well rested. Steve was very friendly and helpful, and Pat made us a beautiful breakfast. Oat milk was sourced for us at the last minute and we were able to get a bit of toast for supper too. Our five year old loved the garden and there were lots of nature books for him to read and a big corn field to play about in. Cant think of a single thing that wasn't absolutely tip top. Even the bath was the best bath I've ever had. Maybe a little toy box would be nice for kids, but we didnt really need it. Thanks so much, we'll be back xxx

"A perfect home away from home"

10.0

A lovely place to stay. I was visiting numerous places on Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset and this was a perfect central location to base myself from. A lovely breakfast prepared every morning fuelled me up for the day and the room was a beautiful cosy place to rest my head at night rounded off by beautiful views from the bedroom window. A wonderful place to stay at a fantastic price.

"Adorable historic country stay!"

8.0

We were fortunate enough to stay here one night on a trip to Wales and England. It's in a rural setting, at the bend of a narrow country road. Google Maps gets you there. There is adequate parking along the side and in back of the guest house. We were given a room upstairs that was enormous and adorable. It featured a huge bathroom, a dressing area / closet, and a separate room for sleeping. The bed linens were clean and in great condition, and the bed was comfortable. There was no shower in our room, so if you prefer not to sit in a bathtub to wash, you'll have to wait. In the closet / dressing area, the entrance to the attic was wide open; there was no door or piece of wood to close it. This was very strange and it drew attention to the cobwebs along the ceiling. At one point, one of us dropped a small item on the floor, and as we searched for it on the carpet, we realized that the carpet had not been thoroughly vacuumed in quite some time. There was noticeable dust on the small dresser in the room. We were not bothered by this, but it indicates a lack of attention to cleanliness. Breakfast the following morning was delicious, with a good selection of options, and the coffee was great too. You will eat well here. The table settings and linens were spotless and in fine condition. The grounds are meticulously maintained and exactly what "English country garden" implies. Although it feels like it's in the middle of nowhere, there is a fine pub/restaurant closely for meals, and Bath is a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again.

Our host was really pleasant. The bed was comfortable and there was a great power shower with plenty of hot water. It may have been a bit cleaner but it is a quirky old cottage. Breakfast was great.

We were made to feel very welcome at this charming, old worldy cottage. The location is rural & peaceful & there'sa beautifulcottage garden if the weather allows. The building has great character & we were able to use the shared kitchen, lounge or sun lounge. The breakfast was fantastic. It's a short car journey to the pretty town of Bradford on Avon which has lots of restaurants & also a good base to explore the Cotswolds & Bath.
