Everything about this place is amazing and my guide shamaau made the trip very easy for me and my friend to move around the island.

We had the most INCREDIBLE trip to The Standard! It was to celebrate my husband's birthday and it couldn't have been a more perfect place. It was far more beautiful in real life than it even is in the pictures - the colour of the water, the amazing tropical fish, the restaurants, the beach, the private pool - all fantastic. We stayed in an overwater bungalow and it was a great size too and lovely decoration. Poula was our host for the trip - his enthusiasm was fantastic and he was so helpful/gave us lots of tips and helped us book activities - he was absolutely brilliant! Other staff were also lovely and so friendly - we loved speaking to Si and Rabbi (sorry if I've spelt wrong) at various dinners too! Thank you so much Standard! Cannot recommend it enough - we hope to be back soon!

My stay at this Maldivian paradise was nothing short of extraordinary—truly a five-star experience in every sense. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm hospitality, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and breathtaking views that felt almost unreal. The villa was stunning—immaculately clean, beautifully designed, and perfectly positioned to enjoy both sunrise and sunset. Waking up to the sound of gentle waves and stepping directly into the ocean was a dream come true. The staff went above and beyond to make every moment special, always attentive, kind, and genuinely caring. One of the absolute highlights of my trip was the snorkeling experience with sharks, guided by the incredible instructor, Barsma. At first, I was a bit nervous, but Barsma’s calm and professional approach made me feel completely safe and confident. Swimming alongside these majestic creatures in their natural habitat was both thrilling and surreal—an unforgettable adventure I will cherish forever. The resort also offered amazing dining options, relaxing spa treatments, and a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to disconnect and truly unwind. Every detail was thoughtfully curated to create a luxurious and memorable stay. If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime escape filled with beauty, adventure, and world-class service, this hotel the Standard is absolutely perfect. I cannot recommend it highly enough—I’m already dreaming of coming back

Like most people writing reviews for the Standard Maldives, we also had an incredible few days staying at the resort. Everything went exactly as we expected. The grounds, pool area, bungalows, main restaurant etc were every bit as beautiful in person as they are in photos. The snorkeling in the house reef was great, and compares well to places such as the Great Barrier Reef, Belize Reef, etc. What made the experience even better were the staff. Every single person provided great interactions and we received personalized attention throughout our stay. One server in the main restaurant though was a cut above the rest and truly lived and breathed service culture. Each of our days and at each of our meals, Hassan made it a point to find us and to make sure our beverage orders were placed without us needing to ask. He was the friendliest person we encountered during our stay and I hope the Standard looks to hire even more people that live up to this standard (no pun intended). Overall, we would definitely return. Thank you to the entire organization for making our holiday a memorable one!

every staff in this island is so great and warm.and the room is amazing and beautiful.food here is delicious and I love it especially the fried noodles and eggs. I recommend all of you to have a travel in Huruvalhi! By the way,I have won a voucher at the day before check out,I’m so lucky hahaha.

My husband and I just returned from our honeymoon at The Standard, Huruvalhi Maldives, and it was nothing short of magical — a true 10 out of 10 experience. We packed every day with activities: snorkeling at the incredible house reef (so vast I could swim for over two hours and still not cover the whole area), snorkeling under the dock at the dive center which is essentially a living aquarium with thousands of fish, boat rides, windsurfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, a picnic on the baby island, floating breakfast at our villa, a lobster feast at sunset on our deck, private bachata lessons where we learned an entire song as complete beginners, yoga, aerial yoga, a sound bath meditation, tennis (though the humidity made long rallies tough!), a painting class, and I even got to play one of our wedding songs on the ukulele. I also took a resin art class with the resident artist Hridoy Khan, which stretched over two days since my schedule was so full — he was incredibly attentive during our private session and even captured some great videos of the process. The snorkeling alone would have made the trip worth it; we saw reef sharks almost every day and even spotted an eagle ray gliding by while dining at Onda. Our host Poula went above and beyond to make our honeymoon celebration feel truly special — he arranged bubbles and cake for us, and a complimentary romantic dinner at the best seat in the house at Onda overlooking the sunset, where we had the most extraordinary beef tartare that we couldn’t believe we were eating on an island in the Indian Ocean. He also surprised us one evening by preparing a bubble bath in our villa, which was such a thoughtful touch since the tub was tricky to get properly bubbly on our own. On clear nights, the stars were absolutely stunning and I’d swim out to the in-water hammock just to float and take them in, and on calm low-tide mornings the fish and coral were so vivid from our deck that I spent breakfast painting watercolors of the scene below. The DJ sets during breakfast and sunset were a wonderful touch, and the overall design and decor of the property is gorgeous. The service was the best I’ve ever experienced — from the moment we were greeted at the airport, to 24/7 responsiveness through the app and phone, all the way to staff walking us to our seats at the airport lounge when we departed, we felt completely taken care of every single moment. The only small note is that the Wi-Fi isn’t the strongest, but honestly it turned into a blessing — we embraced the digital detox and were all the more present for it. We tried every restaurant on the island and loved them all. If you’re looking for a honeymoon destination where every day can somehow feel even more magical than the last in the most incredible place on earth, The Standard is it.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

We had a wonderful week at this resort! There were a few things that could be improved — the app wasn’t very user-friendly, the concierge service could be more efficient, and there was a mix-up with our return transfer that almost got missed. But honestly, these are minor details that didn’t take away from our overall experience. It’s more a case of the hotel promising a bit more than it consistently delivers. That said, we truly had an amazing time. The Maldives are as stunning as ever, the house reef is absolutely incredible — full of marine life right by the water villas. The villas themselves are beautiful, the food is delicious, and the staff are warm and welcoming. However, the main reason I’m writing this review is the PADI center on the island — because diving with them was the absolute highlight of our trip. The dive center is fantastic. We took the Open Water course, and everything was handled perfectly. The team is friendly, the equipment is great, and the whole atmosphere is very relaxed and supportive. A special thank you to our instructor, Basma — she is truly outstanding! I take quite a lot of courses, and it’s super rare to come across such a wonderful teacher. She genuinely loves what she does and the underwater world, and it makes all the difference. Basma is kind, fun, calm, experienced and very responsible. Learning with her was an absolute joy — both incredibly useful and genuinely enjoyable! I’m beyond happy with the experience and would recommend Basma 1000% to anyone considering diving or taking a PADI course. You’ll be in the best hands ever!
