THIS FELT LIKE EXTORTION. I’m honestly in shock. I’ve never heard of something like this happening at a hotel. Someone left personal items for my wife at the front desk for her to pick up. She is not a guest, had no reservation, and has absolutely no relationship with this hotel. She simply went to retrieve her belongings. When she arrived and explained the situation, the staff refused to give her the items unless she paid for a room. Yes—exactly that. They demanded that she make a booking just to hand over something that already belonged to her. She tried to explain that she wasn’t staying at the hotel and was only there to pick up her items, but they still refused. Even worse, the manager came out and supported that decision. This makes absolutely no sense. If the hotel had any issue with accepting those items, they should have handled that with the person who dropped them off—not with her. She has nothing to do with the hotel’s internal policies or how they manage those situations. What’s even worse is that, based on what she told me, she felt pressured and had no real choice in the moment. She was in a rush to pick up our child and ended up paying just to get back what was already hers. That’s not a policy—that’s taking advantage of someone in a vulnerable situation. It’s unbelievable that both an employee and a manager would agree to handle things this way. It shows a complete lack of ethics and professionalism. We are currently waiting for a refund, which has still not been issued. This is completely unacceptable. Be very careful with this place.
