Beautiful location. Amazing staff. Good food. Spent an entire day by the pool. Good music. Very relaxing.

Great staycation spot for Tucsonians! The entire staff was really accommodating. Markus at the front desk was especially helpful, knowledgable and courteous. Will def stay again.

The El Conquistador is ready for a reno...and not just a simple facelift. Especially for the rooms. The common areas are "ok". I don't mind the style of the current lobby, it is certainly dated but the need to renovate is more of a clean it up and make things a bit more functional. The El Con is like taking a step back in time, and it's not the aesthetics it's a certain "mustiness". Check-in is not an issue and since I use mobile check-in I skipped the desk altogether and just went straight to the room. Which is a nice feature and appreciated. Parking was simple and at least for my situation not more than a 50 yard walk (although I had picked the room based on adjacency to the main parking lot intentionally). No street or road noise at night so that's a plus. The pool is "ok". It was not busy so I appreciated that. However, as others have noted the gates are quite rusted. The gate to the slide rock area is especially in need of replacement. It's an accidental scrape that results in a tetanus shut waiting to happen. It's probably just about where insurance liability could become a big issue, it's not just wear and tear it is rotted thru and jagged. Especially keeping in mind that it's going to be kids going in and out of that gate... Accomodations themselves: Musty...stale. I'm not sure what the right word is but it is very prominent. Strikingly present. I figured since I picked the room I'd just live with it but I probably should not have, although that is mostly because I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that all rooms would share the same quality. Bed was fine, but nothing to write home about. Cleanliness...lacking. A run through with a vacuum between guests would have gone a long way. Lobby Lounge: Food was classic Sysco (or maybe Shamrock, I'm not sure who is the big supplier in Tucson). Passable and the same you can get in 90% of other places. Epazote...man...if that's the signature restaurant...it's not a good sign. Service was genuinely lost. Weird situation getting a table with the hostess doing three other things first and a three group line forming. Sat...and waited. Started with one server, ended with another, and ended up with the manager actually running food. The whole dinner just was odd. The food was very forgettable. Could have been an off-night, but I wouldn't try it again. Super long story short: The resort is ready for a significant investment. It's not an aesthetic, it's an age and condition need.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was good and filling. The bed was comfortable.

seen several areas needing maintenance, both in my room and on the walkway. My concern was if I could see maintenance problems, what is it like in areas I can't see?

the staff particular in the Oasis pool area. It was a busy weekend especially on Sunday. the Bartender was by himself and was overwhelmed. I asked if i could order food he stated he is by himself and to flag down a server. I approached at their window one was Brandon and then he had someone with him. They stated that the Bar handles service, but they will be right over to help. And they did, twice.

A more professional protocol in regarding to injuries on the property. The wait time for extra towels and bedding for the pull-out couch. Had to contact 3 times to get our request even though we left a good five-hour gap between requested.

Everything was amazing and beautiful!! Exactly how described will visit again in the future.
