Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa

Been coming here for years. Ocean front room views are awesome. Friendly staff in all departments. Rooms starting to look a little dated. Poorly repaired wallpaper, chipped paint on balcony, stopper on sink doesn’t work. But too busy looking at the view to care much about these minor details.

We visited Hawaii for the first time to celebrate my father’s 80th birthday, and although the trip started with a lot of stress, it ended up becoming a truly unforgettable experience. After dealing with unexpected rental car charges at the airport, expensive meals that were disappointing, and spending nearly an hour searching for parking before finally parking near the zoo and walking to the hotel, we arrived exhausted. Thankfully, meeting James completely changed everything for our family. From the moment we checked in, he was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. He arranged connecting rooms so our family could stay together comfortably and surprised us with an upgrade to a beautiful ocean-view room for my father’s birthday celebration. He also helped us solve our parking issue, which was such a relief after a long day. The hotel location was also perfect — being right in front of Waikiki Beach made everything so convenient and enjoyable. We could easily walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops, and the view was absolutely amazing. On our final day, James sent fresh fruit and a selection of Hawaiian drinks to our room, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made my father’s 80th birthday even more special. Our whole family was touched by his kindness. I sincerely want to thank James for making this trip such a wonderful memory for our family. His hospitality felt genuine and heartfelt, and it was honestly some of the best service we have ever received anywhere. If we visit Hawaii again, we will definitely stay here again because of James and the wonderful experience he gave us.

Great location, right in the center of Waikīkī, across Kūhiō Beach. Lounge could be stocked more, especially for breakfast. They do alternate days where no protein (sausage, bacon, etc) is not served, instead it will be pancakes or waffles. So might be worth to eat out or check out the Shor Buffet. They offer free chairs, boogie board, and towel rentals which is very convenient.

It’s an old hotel with limited and poor breakfast options. Location is great but not your typical Hyatt regency. Most people that are staying here are getting Costco deals which is very cheap deals.

My organization planned an event at the Hyatt Regency in Waikiki and had block of rooms for personnel attending the event and to stay. After conducting the online booking portion two months prior, we were informed at check-in that they switched my wife and I’s king bed selection to a two queen room without input or request. Once we declined, it took the receptionist another 30 minutes to check us in. After we were able to finally get into our room, another couple a few minutes later were double booked into our room. The floor man had to come in and work with the front desk to deconflict. Management never apologized or offered any explanation. The location and venue were fantastic, but it is also downtown Waikiki where it is the norm.
