Hyatt Regency Columbus

I had called ahead to let the hotel know my wife would be checking in and to put her name on the reservation. They made a note on the file yet the check in person did not see the note and would not allow her to check in. My wife and 10 yr old daughter arrived at 9:30 at night for a volleyball tournament in the convention center. They had to be at warm ups at 7am. The last thing they wanted to do was fight to check in and then I received a call at 9:30 while putting our 8 yr old to bed to approve her to check in. This was extremely disappointing. Especially when the note was on file. The manager called me the next day to apologize and let me know my wife and daughter enjoyed a free breakfast. Only issue was my wife and daughter did not even have breakfast. Total fail from top to bottom. This goes to training of staff on how to check reservation notes, understanding information that flows to managers, and overall customer experience.

We stayed at the hotel for a dance competition that was happening at the Columbus Convention Center. Not only was it easy to walk over to the Convention Center, but the location was within walking distance to many great restaurants. I am very particular regarding the cleanliness of hotel rooms. I would rate this a 5/5!!! The room was updated, spacious, and everything was clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Location

Our room was an angled room with an amazing view. The bathroom was super nice. I appreciated the option to use the mirror from the bathroom in another room.

Nothing about the property was undesirable. I do wish we didn’t have to have our luggage transported by staff without the option to do it ourselves. Their restaurant’s food was only so-so this time.

Very nice overall Stay. Check-in was a little rough, but it could have been a new Employee. It all worked out in the end. The housekeeping staff was great!
