Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina

The room wasn’t as nice as I expected. The bed frame was ripped, the shower head was broken, and the light near the entrance of the room was extremely dim with no way to make it brighter.

Amazing property at a great location. Nice, friendly staff. If you are heading to San Diego this is your place. Fair rates, just book 2-3 months in advance, if possible. Highly Recommend!👍

The staff at the reception were very friendly! The grounds are spacious, and there is a large swimming pool. There are plenty of activities for children. The room was very clean! Beautiful views from the window, too.

If you’re traveling with a toddler that is sensitive to dust, please reconsider staying here. Our suite had dust nearly in every corner of the room. There was a gap in our waterfront suite room door so we had wind and noise coming in. Ice machine didn’t work. Staff didn’t know about some amenities . Two out of the pool heaters weren’t working so water was too cold to enjoy. Parking was a problem for us. We were charged more than once- front staff said they were trying to work on this problem.

Came here for 3 reasons - 1. we were evacuated due to the chemical spill in Orange County 2. We have family that works for the Hyatt and got their f&f rate. Otherwise it was too expensive. 3. We called around to different hotels to make sure they could accommodate our truck and boat trailer - and this hotel told us it would be no problem and no extra fee. We got here late last night, 2 kids with special needs and 2 service dogs. My husband was later than we were because he blew a tire on the trailer on the way down. Already a mess of a day. The kids and I checked in with Melanie - who is absolutely a wonderful gem and the ONLY reason I gave 2 stars. She was more than helpful and accommodating. Then my husband came. Suddenly they told us they didn’t have room for our truck and trailer. We spoke to Tyler, the front desk manager and he went to “call” someone. He comes back to say, they could accommodate it but it would be $150 A NIGHT. Mind you, it’s Memorial Weekend. We were evacuated - this isn’t a vacation. Everything is booked, or closed at this hour. We have already unloaded everything into the room and are basically stuck. What else can we do?! Tyler - the evening front desk manager is unbelievably rude, condescending and has zero empathy for anyone. Absolutely terrible customer service. I was nice as could be. I explained we were here due to being evacuated and he couldn’t care less. He said he spoke to Drew, (who initially told us we would have no issue with parking) and although he did say we called to confirm, that “he was new and didn’t know what he was talking about”. But they wouldn’t honor it or give us a discount. $150 to park overnight and it would be gone ALL DAY is absurd. It’s already been incredibly stressful having to quickly evacuate, especially with special needs kids and dogs, let alone be completely screwed financially, without warning and without recourse. We will NEVER stay here again. Ever.

Do not book this hotel. This hotel used to be good years ago. I decided to make a day trip out here and book one of their marina suites.. definitely book another hotel and stay far away from this one. I checked in with their front desk and when we opened our doors we had a whole family inside of our rooms. They were on the beds, used the restroom, and the bell boy comes and says “oops wrong room” takes their stuff and says enjoy your stay. WTH… I call the front desk and they changed my room. The guy in the front says they will have someone bring me the key to the new room right away.. 20 min. Later still no key, sitting by the elevators waiting. Then finally when we get into the room we decided to go out and check out balboa park. Everything was great at balboa except when I came back our room keys were deactivated. All 4.. I went to the front desk to talk to what looks like a manager and of course, not even a I’m sorry.. just an attitude & horrible customer. Service. Definitely never coming back to this hotel there are much better options. This hotel and the management is super run down too.

Beautiful. Corner suite, perfect, with views. Their restaurant, Red Marlin, was delicious both nights we went and enjoyed by our entire family that attended. Expensive but nice for special occasion.

They have parking, but not to accommodate our B Van that we were traveling in. Left Van at daughters as she said to many homeless problems in San Diego and it wouldn’t be safe unsecured on street.
