Hyatt Regency Sarasota

I will not be visiting this location again due to the family that on April 25th when we checked in it was a very good check in process and the young lady was very friendly but when we arrived in our room we experienced several issues that should have been associated with a Hyatt property. There was a large number of furniture pieces that had paint chippings, the carpets had stains in them, there were a large accumulation of flies and mosquitoes at our balcony doors which as a result of it we did not go on or use it. They could do a much better job with Pest Control in this area. We also notice that the carpets had a lot of ants in the carpet which was very difficult to see due to the fact that they were dark. The only reason I knew this was something fell on the floor and I had to get down and look for it, then notice a lot of ants crawling around on the floor. Needless to say we did not walk on the carpet barefoot without shoes or slides and we didn't realize this until the very last day before we got ready to leave. However I must say the driver/ Transportation guy named Mark was excellent. He was very accommodating and had the best customer service that I have seen from anywhere in a very long time. Which he was the only plus as well as the young lady at checkout which was one of the only Pros to the stay.

Our stay was 7 days. Prior to arrival I had the pleasure of speaking to Serena Spring. Serena was receptive to our needs and was also there for advice. During our stay Serena was also seen greeting people at the front entrance. The hotel was in excellent condition considering it is being demolished in June. I had not met the Manager Wes Santos but he could be seen picking up say a piece of trash and tossing it in the garbage which shows he does what needs to be done and nothing is above these two managers. All staff members were helpful such as Max at the recreation counter and many others. My wife enjoyed speaking with Margret at the evening lobby bar. Overall a great stay.

This is a very nice hotel. The man at front desk, Kyle, was great. The pool bar/restaurant had good food and drinks. Our room was very clean. Would definitely recommend. You have to valet park as there is no self-parking but you can go in and out as much as you need to. We did not eat at the main restaurant; but talking to someone at the pool who did and they said their meal was delicious.

We stayed here for a stay cation for my mothers birthday and staff were very welcoming and added a few small touches to make her birthday special. Rooms are a bit dated but property is nice and in a good area. Location is nice and near downtown Sarasota with restaurants and shops nearby.

Hotel is semi remodeled but I think they are slated to demolish in 2 weeks. The views are nice . There is construction happening at an adjacent property of which if you are trying to relax at pool during Monday-Friday not the best. However we did not notice any noise from our suite. The dining options were good, ate breakfasts there and 1 dinner. Hotel is clean but some floor plans outdated.

Best breakfast I’ve had in a while! Nice hotel/pool on a beautiful property. Would definitely go back to this hotel. The check-in process was smooth and easy and the staff met all of our needs/ requests. My kids had a blast in the pool and recreation area. There is also the cutest playground across the street and you can find amazing sunsets on this property.

We had a horrible stay. Building is very run down. Our towels were dirty. AC did not work during our stay and it was 90 degrees out. Hotel provided no compensation and was not upfront on how long it was going to take to fix the issue. I expected a Hyatt Regency to be much nicer and more responsive to guests. We left and stayed at the Voco hotel across the street which was lovely.

No air conditioning for 3 whole days, no substantial refund. When we arrived we were offered waters, staff was fine. Hotel must have a policy that punishes employees for compensating customers for pretty unacceptable conditions (90 degrees no air conditioning for days in a row).

Hotel is being shut down in May. the property was having issues with air-conditioning in the complete building, we were not told of this until after we checked in. Hotel guest were buying box fans to put in there room to keep cool. Guest were mislead.

The Hyatt downtown Sarasota is being torn down May 31 this year so I felt many of the staff had left already and many were not doing their job to the usual Hyatt standards. I felt they didn’t have as many options as other Hyatts. The gift shop had very little in it. The bars were not stocked with the best wine etc. The air conditioning went out for 2 days and it was un bearable hot
