"We'll be back!"

Beautiful location in Sarasota. Great staff. Comfortable and clean room. Super pool & hot tub. Food and drink at the pool was tasty. Great sunset viewing. We'll definitely stay here again and probably seek out a Hyatt for travels in other cities.

"Pencil pushers take over"

I’ve stayed here many times going back 20 years, altho this is the first time since covid. It still has a nice location, a really terrific pool, and very comfortable vibe. Sadly a bunch of small penny-pinching changes cheapen the experience. For now $500/night (in Feb, not President’s week) you get 2 cheap disposable plastic cups. I called the front desk and a nice lady went to check and came back and said no they don’t provide glassware to the rooms. I didn’t want to drink wine from these, so I went down to the bar and the friendly bartender gave me a real glass. No more self park. Now just $45/night valet unless you want to walk 3 blocks to an unimproved, unmonitored city lot. Used to be a nice padded bench by the door. Very convenient for unloading stuff or collecting stuff to go, or just sitting. It’s gone. Now just empty space. Used to be an extra blanket in the closet, but no more. Used to be ice machines on every floor, but no more. I know these aren’t big things, but the minor inconveniences are annoying at $500/night when their purpose is to add a few more pennies to their profits. Will I go back? Yeah probably for the pool, but I’ll look at alternatives which I didn’t in the past.

"Good for Orioles’ Spring Training"

Nice location if you are going to Orioles’ Spring Training. Resort amenities are not very good other than the swimming pool but if you go in the spring the water might be cold. Downtown is within walking distance but likely you’ll need a rental car the entire time.

"Not as expected"

Dated Hotel described as luxury stay but under delivered comfort. Beds are dated. Lighting is so dark inside the room. The bathroom/vanity lights were so dim, not appropriate for anything in front of a mirror like putting on make-up. The pillows were feathered and soft which was a nice surprise , the bed though was not comfortable.

The rooms were terrible. I could not believe they charged as much as they did. The were old, outdated and not the cleanest. The beds were very small as was the bathroom. I was incredibly disappointed.

"Staff needs attitude adjustment "

Our stay could’ve been made better by any sort of recognition or sincerity from the front desk staff. No one was flat out rude, but we spoke with the team members almost daily and not one person asked how we were enjoying our stay, or wished us a good day with a smile when we were heading out. A friend tried to send us a bottle of champagne for our wedding celebration just to be told it simply can’t be done without any explanation or other alternative offering. Meanwhile, I requested a bottle of champagne be sent to the room for my husbands birthday a few days prior and they were able to make it happen. Even upon checkout I asked if anything else needed to be done besides dropping off keys and was just told “I’m all set” without a smile or a simple well wish for safe travels. The accommodations were wonderful however, but the general tone from staff was lacking any sort of pleasantries. My husband and I both come from service/hospitality and are very understanding that bad days happen, but to be treated this way for our entire stay was disappointing.
